it was easy, the move the school, it was all so easy compared to one thing f***ing wolves. my brother and I have lived in our apartment for a month. since we moved, I had been in contact with Chris. for an Alpha he was sweet, caring, polite and always put me first.
he was absolutely amazing and in the single month I was here our relationship had grown expedientially. the only problem was him and my brother. everytime they were near each other something was off. like they both knew something I didn't. it was annoying. my brother would continuously glaring at him and Chris was constantly smiling.
almost like a child who won some sort of game.
"Jackson if your only going to stare at him you might as well just sit down" I said handing Chris a coffee and then sitting down. "what are your intentions with my baby sister exactly?" Jackson asked continuing to glare. "well any other time then today good, unfortunately I have some bad news for amber today" Chris said in his usual tone.
"what's wrong?" I asked sitting down. "well" he said slightly hesitant. "the Alpha conference is in a few days and it was decided last minute to be held in my territory" he said looking down at the cup. I stood up and walked behind the couch 'of course no matter where I go I still can't get away from him' I thought to myself as I began to bite the main bend of my finger.
"hey relax" Chris said said standing up off the couch then pulling my hand away from my mouth. "I'll make sure he stays away from you" he said calmly. "I took a breath "thanks" I said with a light smile.
"Alright that's enough" my brother said popping out of nowhere and getting in between us. "Amber don't you have something school wise to do or something?" my brother asked. "yeah I guess I do but..." I said but my brother interrupted me by beginning to push me carefully towards the door. "good then do it." he said and closed the door in my face. I sighed and just turned and walked down the hall. I really just didn't have the energy to deal with it.

back in the apartment Jackson and Chris were now alone. "why are you even still around her" Jackson said angry as he locked the door then turned to face Chris. "because" Chris started "She's my mate" he continued. "And are you sure about that" Jackson said annoyed. "From what I heard aren't mates supposed to know right away?" Jackson asked taking a step towards Chris. "if she was your mate..... why doesn't she know?" he Questioned.
Chris was silent for a moment. "that's only true when both are wolves, when it comes to different species, the only one who would know is the wolf half not the witch, human or vampire" Chris explained. "and you know that's another thing..." Jackson said walking around Chris.
Chris turned to face him. "how is her being pregnant by Nathan even possible, it would be one thing if she was a wolf, but she's a witch, a completely different species from a wolf, she's your mate yet he got her pregnant, according to history, this child shouldn't exist" Jackson said. "and here you are just... ok with it" he continued.
"You aren't?" Chris asked. "Jackson let me tell you something" Chris said taking 3 steps closer to Jackson. "I am the Alpha of one of the most powerful packs in the country, Who is also mated to no doubt one of the most powerful Witches in this country. if the goddess chose her to Carry an impossible child created by another wolf and still chose me to be her mate, then there is obviously a reason, and I would be stupid to not accept your sister for all she brings with her" Chris explained honestly.
"fine" Jackson said "but don't expect my help winning her over" Jackson said sarcastically. "I would expect no less" Chris replied.

"Amber?" his voice called out, like a question almost as if he couldn't believe it was me. "Why are you here Nathan?" I asked looking at him my heart beginning to hurt. "Amber I'm..." "don't" I said interrupting him. "I don't want an apology" I said. "I don't want an explanation for why you did what you did or said what you said" I continued.
"then what do you want from me how can I make you forgive me" he pleaded. "Nathan.... you grabbed my throat... shoved me against a wall and called me a w**re" I said look him up and down. "the only thing I want from you, is for you to stay the hell away from me" I said.
"AMBER!" my new friend Emily said snapping me back to reality "are you ok?" she asked "I called your name like 100 times" she said slight concern on her face. "yeah I'm fine, just day dreaming I guess" I chuckled awkwardly. "daydreaming anything interesting?" she asked sitting down next to me. "not really, just imagining how certain things will play out" I explained.
"ohhhhh, I do that all the time" she said spinning around in her chair. "sometimes that's even how I have to fall asleep at night" she said in a whisper as she leaned in close to me. "anywho whatcha reading" she said now laying her head down on the table. then picked her head up to read the cover "The Mama Natural Week-by-Week Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth..." she read. "Are you pregnant?" she asked looking up at me shocked.
"Is that really so surprising?" I asked "you just don't seem like the type" Emily replied. "how far along are you?" she asked. "3 Months" I said "hm I see" Emily said standing up. "well I'll leave you to keep reading since we are in a library" she continued "See ya later" she said very chiper, then ran off.

Emily walked outside the building and pulled out her phone as she began to walk down concrete steps. "Hey" Emily said putting the phone to her ear "I have something interesting that I think he will want to know..." Emily said suspiciously.
