"what about it?" I asked "is it true it's from alpha Nathan?" one of the elders asked. "so what if it is?" I asked. "if it's true when the child is born you have to give it to him" a woman said standing on the side wall of the room. "I'm not a wolf I don't have to follow your laws so no I don't have to give it to him" I said looking at her annoyed. "if the council agrees and your coven signs off then you must" I smiled.

"my coven wouldn't agree, my mother runs it, with something that serious it would come to a vote. and although I love my coven I would not hesitate to leave it for my child." I replied "and if I leave it then no one would be able to control me" I stated. "you would leave your coven, the ones who raised you because of a hybrid mongrel?" the man from before asked.

"let me explain it in words that can be understood" I said looking back at him. "we both follow the same goddess, the only difference is that I also follow more gods than just her. there was a reason she chose me to carry this child. there is a reason she chose this child to be a hybrid, and if you don't like that there's nothing I can do. but I will protect my child with my life, and I will do anything to keep it safe" I explained simply.

"I'm afraid you leave us no choice then to file a petition to remove you as its mother once it's born" another woman stood up and said. "this child is part of wolf which cannot raise it what will you do when it my shift for the first time, it won't have a pack to be raised in if you raise it, it would be better to send it to its father once it's born" the woman said arrogantly. "it's also part witch" I snapped "I don't think there's a need for that" Chris cut it as he stepped in front of me. "and why is that son?" the man from before asked. "Son?" I questioned. "he's my father" Chris said quickly.

'well that kind of explains a lot' I thought to myself. "what if she could raise the child from both worlds? what if she had a wolf to raise it with?" Chris asked "that would require her having a mate, son that rarely happens as is" Chris's father explained "now.." Chris's father said attempting to move on. "she is my mate" Chris interrupted. 

"what?" I said confused. "I didn't want to tell you, at least not yet I wanted you to try to figure it out for yourself but circumstances didn't allow that" Chris explained. "I'm your mate..." I said shocked and confused. "well it doesn't matter the child isn't" the woman from before tried to add. "of course it matters" Chris's dad interrupted her. "if she really is his mate then that would only add to the issue at hand" another interrupted. "SHUT UP!" I yelled. 

"This is My child No one but me gets to make any decisions about it so suck it up and stay out of it!" I yelled then stormed out of the room. 

"Amber?" I heard Nathans voice from behind me, "Amber wait?" he said grabbing my hand. "Don't touch me!" I said stopping and ripping my hand from his grasp, then fling'd it out at him causing him to go flying. I ran out of there and continued to run until I made it back to my brothers car. 

"Amber" I heard Chris say from behind me "how did you..." I said turning to face him "Oh my god" I then said quickly covering my eyes. "your naked" I said turning around again my eyes still covered. "it was the only way I could catch up with you" he said out of breath. "will you please put some clothes on!" I stammered. 

"I get this is your territory and it's normal for wolves but I am not a wolf" I continued. "I was running so fast I forgot them" he said in a neutral tone. "partum vestimenta ubi non sunt" I said, then turned around to face him. "That's better" I said uncovering my eyes and now seeing clothes on him. "I'm sorry" he said solemnly.

"Why did you lie to me?" I asked honestly. "I-I wanted you to fall in love with me out of your own will. I was worried, that if you knew I was your mate in the beginning, you would think you only wanted me for the mate bond which isn't true..." he explained. "I honestly assumed that's why your brother didn't tell you and why he resented me but never completely pushed me away from you" he continued. 

"What hold on" I said making him pause. "My brother knows?" I asked slightly shocked "Amber I'm sure he only had good intentions" he said as I turned to get in the car. "I will deal with you later" I said then got into my brothers car and drove off.

when I got back to the apartment building, I stormed into the apartment and my brother quickly stood up off the couch, "Amber what's wrong" he asked as I shoved him against the wall. "HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN?" I yelled using my arm to pin his throat against the wall. 

"Known what, what are you talking about?" he asked "How long have you known I was Chris's mate?" I asked tears filling my eyes. "your my brother, your supposed to be on my side..." I cried "I am on your side...." he tried to say. "then why did you lie? why didn't you tell me?" I asked. "Amber I..." oh, ow" I said grabbing my stomach. "Amber?" my brother said worried. "Ahhhh" I said falling to my knees screaming in pain. "Amber?" my brother said kneeling to my level. "Amber what's wrong talk to me" he said as I continued to cry in pain.
