I hurry to wake up Liu. She can’t seem to grasp it yet either. Tre walked over the edge of the floor, falling into the darkness beneath. Peth and I could not predict it, it was all too sudden. He did not hesitate for a moment, completely indifferent to his actions. We stare into the void, listening. There is naught to sense.
We agree to continue. Horror grips me, weighing down each of my steps. With Tre now gone, we should have one less threat to worry about. It only brings us further worry however. Why did he do what he did? Did the story he tell us have anything to do with it? Or is there something in this cave, something horribly wrong? Liu ponders still of a different path to take. Yet, we continue down.
I see tears falling down Peth’s cheeks. A soft glimmer, it turns dry. It is only us three. What shall be?
Another day of meaningless descent. We set up camp, dine on hardtack and go to bed. I cannot sleep.
