A young blond man could be seen staring from an office balcony of the castle, a serene oasis overlooking the forest under the cloak of night. The wrought iron railing, adorned with intricate vine-like patterns, adds elegance. Smooth marble tiles shine under the moonlight, contrasting with the rich woodwork of the office.
"Don't tell me you're going back there, Your Highness," a redhead bearing hesitant black eyes pleaded to the other, who seemed to be lost in thought.
"Svan, I appreciate your unwarranted concern," he paused his cold sunset-hued orbs looking at the lake," but just this once, I want to see a glimpse of bliss for a short while as my forefather did; I won't even search for the person, I want a peek... and what did I tell you about calling me Michiya when we're alone?" he stated, peering at him by the shoulder.
"I, you know I can't do that. You're a prince!" Svan pointed out, "We don't know what's out there; you could get hurt! Plus, assassins will be out there " He Crossed his arms, but that was the cue for Michiya to leap off the balcony when he started his ramblings, Which promptly made Svan race to the edge of the terrace his black eyes widening on fear, clutching his racing heart as he painfully watched him fall. Finally, when Michiya gracefully landed on the ground, Svan breathed a sigh of relief.
"I'll be back," was all Michiya mumbled, sauntering towards the usual place by the lake.
"Wait! I'm coming along with you! Just wait for me right there!" Svan sobbed, setting his gaze down tightly, holding the railing. He stealthily paced outside the chambers.
"The fairy sightings started west and had always stayed west; no matter how much you wait, the fairy won't come, your Highness," he regretfully whispered, jogging for the doors.
Michiya knew that the fairy in the reports was mostly spotted in the western part of the empire, but he didn't let that information weigh him down, for he had seen the effects the fairy brought along in its wake. He had borne witness to an increase in couples over just a few days; people were delighted, giddy even, and Michiya wanted to have a taste of what people feel under the gaze of their love and to also prove if he even has one or not.
Eyeing his polished boots on the earth, Michiya didn't realize when he arrived at the lake, that his mind wandered from one thought to another.
' What if his love didn't exist? What then? But then again, if she does exist, then what?'
Michiya continued strolling through tall grasses and budding flowers, stopping when he bumped into something, and that something was someone. He was taken aback when the white-haired girl pushed herself against him, vibrant pink eyes nervously looking back at his predatory glowing ones. Michiya subtly took a step back, eyes glued to the ethereal figure. He didn't know what was happening to him; his heart was furiously beating painfully against his chest, so much that he could hear it ringing in his ear. His throat felt incredibly dry. He first broke eye contact, the heat steaming off him.
"A-an enchantress," he mumbled too quietly for the girl to digest what he said.
Michiya took another peek; He couldn't help himself nor stop himself from placing a delicate hand on her cheek. The moon shone on them like a spectacle out from a theatre as if it wasn't enough petals flying past them, was this the person he was supposed to love?
'if so... then please, never let me find her '
As Michiya secured a tight on her shoulder, pink eyes started trembling, and her lips wobbled as he leaned in while the girl tried to pull back.
When he saw how the girl winced at his touch, it was as if he was the one experiencing great pain. A heavy weight was set on his shoulder, was this the feeling everyone got when gazing at someone you're supposed to love? A chest Pain, A Heart attack? He directly set his orbs at her eyes as they slowly hardened, and yelled.
"When I let go, run, run very far away from here if needed to be run with your life!" With a nod as her reply, he slowly let go of the hold on the girl.
With each step the girl took, the distance between them increased, he sighed. He didn't know why he did that, was he thinking of the safety fairy, or was it directed to someone else? a sense of bewilderment and uncertainty washed over him. He stood there, grappling with his conflicting emotions, wondering if he had made the right decision. Just as he began to question himself, a rustling sound came from behind a nearby bush. Reflexively, Michiya's hand instinctively went to the hilt of his sword, his body tensing in anticipation of a possible threat.
But as he turned around, and saw Svan emerge from the foliage, gasping for breath. Sweat trickled down Svan's forehead as he choked out words between labored breaths.
"I... I told you to wait for me, Your Majesty! And this... this isn't the lake!" Svan managed to say, gripping both knees to steady himself.
"it exists," Michiya murmured, his eyes fixed on the spot where the girl had vanished.
"Pa-pardon?" Svan questioned, his face contorting with curiosity. What happened while he wasn't around?
"She does exist" At that, Michiya turned around and faced him, Svan's face contorted into realization when he put the whole thing together, shocked. He covered his mouth steadily, his smile widened, black irises gleaming in delight.
"O-oO-Oh my Helios! You—your majesty! You have been blessed by the Gods! I'm so happy for you! Tell me every detail you can remember about the lucky lady! I'll have knights, guards, and paladins and I search for her! Every nook, rock, and cranny will not be left untouched!" Svan exclaimed, his hands animatedly expressing his excitement.
"No need..." Michiya's expression remained unchanged, devoid of emotion, as he began to walk back toward the castle. Svan trailed behind, his enthusiasm deflated.
"Oh... Do you already know the lady? Do I know her? Is she familiar? Famous even?" Svan fired off a series of questions, his eyebrows wriggling in anticipation.
"No," Michiya simply replied.
Hearing Michiya's response, Svan came to a sudden halt, his face scrunching up with confusion. He studied Michiya's back, the pieces of the puzzle slowly clicking into place, and he asked one final question.
"Do you even want to meet the lady? " Svan's voice carried a mix of curiosity and concern.
Michiya halted in his tracks, his gaze fixed on a distant point. After a moment of contemplation, he turned to face Svan and replied, his voice filled with uncertainty.
"I am conflicted."
After Celena had managed to escape from a certain blond young man, relief washed over her, grasping for air she leaned on a tree. She was in disbelief, how could the man curl his fingers around her shoulders like that?! just because she got careless and tripped over a rock? Shaking the thought out of her head she watched the moon, finding inner peace in its radiant calm light, somehow the moon had always made her feel safe and protected.
"Man, after all that hard work he was just going to push me away? push his love away? He's a stoic type of reaction! first time in my case! He even had the gall to threaten me! right, Silfie?" Celena exclaimed, she was upset at the ungrateful man, this goes to show, never show up around blondies they're a walking red flag.
When she looked around the area, Silfie was nowhere to be seen. Celena was alone in the dense forest, and to make matters worse, it was in the middle of the night. Realizing this, she immediately scurried away, thanking whatever God had guided her back home and prevented her from getting lost.
Directly facing her window she took off her necklace and climbed up the tree grasping a section of her window she internally gave herself a pat on the back. 'works every time' Celena cheered as she entered her room.
"where were you?" Pink eyes widened at the deadly venomous voice, looking back it was Kale glaring daggers at her arms crossed leaning against her chamber door, if looks can kill then she'd probably be dead right about now.
"I...Um, Bathroom? " Celena giggled trying to play it cool, scratching the back of her neck, but this just intensified Kale's rising anger scoffing he pressed a palm on his face gliding it down.
okay so not the best excuse she can come up with, but hey! what the hell is he doing here in the middle of the night in a lady's room? like what the actual heck? During his unusual stalking time, She was there she made sure that Kale saw her first before she went out. Celena mindlessly picked on her skin, when Kale sent her a scowl.
"I just came to check up on you Celena, and God knows how much worried and scared I was to find out that you weren't in your chamber! I was this close" Kale emphasized his index finger and thumb distancing a cm "This close to bolting out of the room like a panicked idiot, calling anyone outside for help, our parents, maids, and soldiers authorities even, to find where you were! I thought you were kidnapped! or worse killed?! And the only excuse you came up with was to use the bathroom?" Kale seethed his scowl hardened.
"I...Im sorry" Head bowing in shame Celena reflected on Kale's words, He was right though a girl wandering in the night was just asking for trouble. she clutched her green dress while still staring at the cream-carpeted floor.
"I'm disappointed in you...for once I thought you were healing from whatever madness was ingrained in you, I thought you matured but I thought wrong" Kale assessed her outfit and sighed, "Take that scandalous outfit off and change into your night garments" without another word Kale watched as Celena timidly looked at him.
"Good night... brother" Celena murmured, only to have a loud bang in the face of the chamber door as his response.
She messed up big time, sighing Celena sat in front of her vanity table, gasping and grasping her heart when Kale's head popped out from the door with furrowed brows.
"The bathroom is on the left side of the room beside your vanity table, and get up early tomorrow; we're going to the castle; the king has invited us over. That's all. Good night, Celena."
