I am a witch, who was born over a 2 hundred years ago. why did I live so long? how did I live so long? both in a way the same question. I was born into a small but powerful coven, in the year 1803. my coven was known for its mysterious spells that made the old witches in there 90s look like someone in there 20s.
but that didn't stop them from dying of old age or sickness. all of this was what set me on the path to meeting the vampire Ragnar.
I was only 17 and my old grandmother had just passed away. a fear grew inside me as I saw her young body turn old in the blink of an eye. 'would I be like that to when I died to' I thought to myself. I didn't want that. "I don't want to die mother" I said to my mother desperately.
she slapped me "how dare you, you were given life and power and yet you still ask for more, we repay the gods that give us these gifts by our death how dare you be so selfish!" I mother snapped. "but mother..." I said "leave go pray to the gods for forgiveness!" she yelled. "Yes mother" I said sadly.
and so I did as she said and prayed to the gods for forgiveness. but it never did answered my question. why must we die to repay the gods. it made me even more curious.
there was a small cave near where I lived. it was a cave filled with magic energy. I figured if I could get answers from anywhere it would be there. and so I went.
it took me half a days walk to get there and when I did all I could feel was the energy. so much magic energy it was sickening. I went down into the cave and walked until I got to an underground pond the only thing in it was the clear water itself.
"can you tell me why we must die in order to repay our gods?" I asked aloud. "Can you tell me why the gods give us power? can you tell me how not to die?" I continued to ask aloud.
"my my my, so many questions from such a young soul" I heard a man's voice behind me. I quickly turned around and fell on my but almost falling into the pond. "W-who are you" I stuttered "truly such a hunger for knowledge" he said taking a step towards me. "Stay.. . stay back or else I'll..." "or else you'll what?" he interrupted. "your weak magic won't work on me" he continued. "What do you want?" I asked.
he smiled "only to help" he said "I think you and I have a common goal" he added. "a common goal?" I asked confused. "yes a common goal, we both have a distinct wish to never die" he said. "but your a vampire are you not? you are immortal" I said confused. "immortal yes, but that only means I don't age and cannot die by normal means I can still die" he said. "and I wish to make it impossible for me to die" he continued.
"how would you go about that?" I asked. he smile once more "the question you should be asking is how do we go about that!" he replied "and my dear baby witch it's very simple, all we need is a piece of the goddesses heart" he stated. "A piece of the goddesses heart what is it and how would we go about that?" I asked curiously.
"a piece of the goddesses heart is something that holds considerable power it's also known as a witch wolf hybrid" he explained. "i don't believe they exist" I said confused. "they do but they are rarely born since the beginning of time there have only been 2" he said. "if that's true then how are we to find one?" I asked. "we wait!" he said plainly. "how am I supposed to wait I have a mortal life the only thing I can do is keep my appearance from aging" I argued.
"don't worry I can help you with that" he said.
that was only the beginning. he really did help me stay young and not age and in return I did what ever he asked no questions asked. I did everything for him I did everything to find the hybrid we needed and 200 years later I finally succeeded.
there was only one problem...
"Ragnar!" I said running into the room I was in. there he was standing with Alphonse the alpha who has joined our cause only 20 years ago. "I found it" I said enthusiastically. "I finally found the hybrid" I said his eyes lit up and his sly smile crossed his face. "where he said running to me and putting his hands on my shoulders.
"Boston Massachusetts in the US" I said as at the time we were in France. "send someone to scope out prey" he said and so I did. but I didn't expect what I would find only 2 weeks later.
"Ragnar!" I said sadly "it turns out the hybrid has yet to be born" I said. "Yet to be born?" he said annoyed. "HOW COULD YOU MAKE SUCH A MISTAKE" he yelled "I'm sorry" I said. he sighed. "put the word out that an impossible creature will be born" he said "rumors will spread from there on there own" he added them left the room.
"I decided then and there I would get the child for Ragnar that is why I'm doing this girl" I said to her. "but you don't have to why didn't you just become a vampire if you didn't want to age or die" Amber asked. "and risk losing my power I'm not an idiot" I replied. "please I am begging you not to hurt my baby I'm sure there's another way" she pleaded.
"if there truly was another way I would have found it long ago, I'm sorry but this is how it has to be" I said.
