It had been two days since the incident. They were to leave today but the prince laid in his uncomfortable bed thinking of her. Thinking of her garden, her cloud like her and her signing off as the sun. Despite having no reason to stay he wanted to. He needed to know why she rejected him but still fed him. How she got to the inn before he did. Why despite her joy of seeing the beautiful gifts she still refused them. No, it was more than that he wanted more than that. He needed more than that.
He wanted her.
The prince decided to sneak out of the inn. It was still dusk when he made his way out the door. The last few times he had gone to her house it was by horse, but her cottage was in walking distance. He had only taken the horse to try and impress her. Now he had no reason to. He walked slowly taken in the sleepy village. Very few people were up but even still there was life bursting about. Flowers at every building. The baker was busy at work and the prince could smell the pies and cakes being made. The streets were all paved by white cobble stones and the grass looked very green. Yes, he could see how wonderful the village was.
As he walked, he past the seamstress that made the dresses for him. In the window he saw a dress similar to the one the girl wore the first day he went to her house. He walked towards the store. It was obviously closed but he saw a light on the second floor and decided to knock anyways. The door opened after a couple of seconds.
A young women in a yellow dress similar to the one on display opened the door. She had long ginger hair and freckles that danced across her face and the most beautiful blue eyes. The prince swore he saw gold swirling in them. "My prince!" the girl said bowing deeply, so he could see her chest. This girl was beautiful, and the prince wonder why the servant did not send him to her.
"The dress that you are wearing do all the girls in this village wear it?" the girl chuckled "no it is an original design I made it yesterday." "Original you say?" the girl nodded. "you are sure you made it yesterday?" "Yes it came to me in a dream and when I woke, I made it." The prince brows knitted in confusion. "You were not inspired by anyone else." The girls smile faltered a little but she shook her head "no it is my own."
The prince took a step back looking at the dress. The fabric was different and so was the pattern, but he was sure the dress was a copy. He smiled at the seamstress "well then I will be off" the girl put her hand on the prince's arm. "Join me for breakfast, I have other things I could show you." Prince shook her hand off and was about to berate her when he thought about it. He bent down and kissed the women, he took her into his arms and lead her inside.
