RoaR#6

The elf was on alert and was scanning the trees around them for more enemies. While Roar was just frozen in place staring at the food, not moving.

The armored man was amused at the duo and their reaction at the situation. He looked at Roar and saw that he was frozen and not moving so he discarded his presence. Then he looked at the elf and saw her with an angry expression and her golden bow drawn towards him. he smiled with an evil grin. “I would not do that if I were you.” He then pointed towards the trees around them and noises of bows being drawn could be heard from atop the trees. The elf looked around while keeping her bow drawn towards him and then grit her teeth.

“What do you want?!” the elf was thinking to find a way to get them out of this ordeal that they found themselves in and was trying to locate the archers atop the trees.

“Nothing complicated. Just give us the chest that you got from the dungeon.” He pointed at the chest that they had behind them. “And we won’t kill you.” The man then pulled out his blade and started caressing it while looking at them.

The elf grit her teeth at the disadvantage that they were stuck in and lamented their bad luck. “Ok. Take it. Just leave.”. said the elf with great difficulty because she could not find it in her to make Roar fight on her behalf for the gold and get injured or possibly killed.

The evil man grinned when he heard what the elf said.” Oh, and there is one more matter.”

“What is it?!!” the elf was even more on alert and readied herself for anything.

He pointed towards Roar. Then looked towards her, amused at her expression. “Kill him and we let you walk!”.

The elf looked on with empty eyes and a straight emotionless face. She looked towards Roar, closed her eyes. “Fine.” Said the elf.

The evil man had a very happy expression that the elf was going to do what he had told her to and then he looked towards Roar to see him get killed. But suddenly an arrow came towards his face. He barely dodged the arrow and a scar was left on his cheek. “You will pay for this with your life. You filthy elf!!!”.

“I will never attack an ally!” Said the elf with a serious expression and a firm stance.

the armored man lifted his arm to signal the archers to fire. “Then the both of you can d…!”. he could not finish his sentence for he found that he was out of breath. He looked around and saw the scenery moving really fast and looked down and saw that the barbarian had ran into him with his shoulder and was still going. He went through two trees and then was grabbed by the barbarian and then thrown into another tree that he went through as well.

Everything had happened so fast that the archers that the man brought had no time to react. The man was on the ground from all the damage that he had sustained and shouted.” Fire you idiots!” while spitting blood.

Three arrows came towards the back of the barbarian with great speed. They were feeling really threatened by his strength so they all attacked him. The elf saw the arrows, where they came from and their trajectory and reacted really fast by pulling three arrows of her own and firing them just behind Roar. The arrows all collided and were scattered and Roar was unharmed. She then drew another three arrows and hit all three archers at the same time and they all fell to the ground from the trees. They were still alive but very injured. The armored man was wide eyed and surprised at the strength of the barbarian and the speed and precision of the elf. He then saw the barbarian with a very angry expression taking slow steps towards him, steps that shook the ground. He became very scared and was scrambling his head for ideas on how to get out of this situation.

“Stop. Let’s call a truce.” Said the armored man while still on the ground and waving his hands towards the barbarian. He thought to himself that he can bring the barbarian’s guard down with a fake truce and then stab him in the back. But the barbarian had other thoughts.

Roar was really angry and when the man talked, he did not even hear him. He just saw him waving his hands. He ran towards the man with heavy steps that shook the ground. when he got to him, he grabbed him by his neck and slammed him onto a tree and looked straight into his eyes. “I haven’t eaten in many days.” He then smelled the man deeply.” I can just about eat anything now.” Roar was smiling with a hungry expression.

“No, please don’t eat me!” the armored man was really scared and started begging.

“Roar, these idiots have food with them!” the elf called out because she had found food among the belongings of the three injured archers that she had tied up.

“Food?!!!” he jerked his head towards the elf and his expression changed to one of happiness and he ran towards her with the man in his hand.

Roar got the food from the elf and sat down and began eating immediately. “Ohhh yessss. At last! I will survive.” Said Roar while chewing the food that they got from the enemies that they just defeated. The elf was amused at the barbarian’s excitedness and smiled.

The elf looked at the battered and bruised man in Roar’s hand. “Why are you still carrying him?”

Roar looked at him in his hand. “I don’t know.”. he then threw the man without looking where he threw him.

Screaming sounds could be heard from behind them as the man landed face first into the big fire that Roar had made. But they did not care as they were having their moment.
