It is such a bittersweet thing. Winston cares deeply about Planchette in his own way and wishes to protect her, yet at the same time does not realize he cannot control or make her decisions for her. I love how thought-out and nuanced the characters are in this comic (of course, that being just one out of a thousand other things I love about Unfamiliar).
