+++ Back with Hunter, in the couple's home, three states away from Home +++
Rosa came into the living room to find Hunter looking around at the pictures that were hung up on the walls. "Hey, girl." The alpha glanced back at the sheep, smiling a little.
"Baaaa. Baaaa."
"Yes, I'm actually a bit hungry myself." Rosa started walking in the direction of the kitchen and Hunter followed her. Hunter found some sardine crackers in one of the small cabinets and opened a bag. He started to eat some when he saw Rosa staring at him.
"Baaa."
"What? You actually want one of these?" Hunter asked, before shrugging his shoulders. He stuffed his mouth and gave Rosa one.
Nearly five minutes passed before Hunter heard the couple coming in their direction. He smiled and went around to meet them halfway. He froze when he saw Robert with not only his gun in his hand but also the little things Hunter had brought when he first showed up. Ian looked upset like he was struggling to keep himself together. "Hunter…we have decided.." Robert started. Ian looked down with teary eyes and clenched fists. "That you should leave now." Robert raised his gun and Hunter's instincts were telling him to run.
Hunter dropped the crackers when Robert tossed him his things and then scrambled out of the house. He tripped on one of the steps of the porch before he fell to the ground. "And don't you ever come back!'' Robert's voice broke but Hunter couldn't focus. He couldn't focus on his physical pain, he could only focus on the betrayal he felt.
Hunter let himself tear up, secured his things, and started to run away, leaving the barn. Once Hunter was far enough, he let himself walk but his mind continued to run on his thoughts alone. He walked consciously and stopped only a few times to rest.
And by his last stop, Hunter heard, "Baaaaaa!" Hunter stopped and turned around immediately. Rosa was running towards him.
"R-Rosa?" Hunter waited until she made it to him before he started to tear up. He crouched down seeing there was a collar with her name on it and he frowned, knowing she hadn't had one before. That was when he noticed a small piece of paper attached to her collar and unfastened the letter to begin to read it.
"Hunter,
I'm sorry. We're sorry. Robert didn't mean any of what he said..he just thought that if you had been emotionally motivated to come to us, then you could be emotionally motivated to go home. Kicking you out was hard on both of us but I hope you will eventually understand. We care about you but we know you have a great life ahead of you back home. I let Rosa run after you because you two were the best of friends. And you would most likely never see her again if I didn't make this choice. I didn't want to leave you with nothing so I wrote this quickly. Please try to forgive us. You were the grandson we never had and I promise that we enjoyed every minute of our time together.
Your dear ol' grandfather for a short amount of time,
Ian"
Hunter started to cry and couldn't stop the shudders that racked his body. The emotions he felt allowed him to easily forgive Robert and Ian. He slowly picked Rosa up and looked around.
Hunter slowly started to walk again but unconsciously this time, even closing his eyes and trusting his feet to guide him just as they had done before. He let his feet take him back home.
By the time the sun had risen in the morning, Rosa had gone to sleep and Hunter looked up. He didn't know where he was but he soon found himself in a city.
