Honestly, I think it is unfair of companies to demand overtime of their employees.
First and foremost we are all humans, and we need time to be ourselves and socialise with our friends and family.
Denmark has the happiest population globally, and Finland has the most equal gender pay. We could certainly learn a lot from their work ethics: people finish work around 1700, earlier if you have children. They are also allowed to start work later when they have children attending school. The workday is short and productive, so employees can go home to cook meals and eat with family.
Then look at their economic stability and decide if this is the right way to work.
☺
We've got to work smarter, not harder.
