Alex's POV:

I'm Alex... A young boy with his foolish dreams to pursue ~...

My life has completely changed since I was just a teenager when my parents got divorced after being in love for so many years because of my dad's affair with another woman. Since then, I've lost all my beliefs about love...

My mom is a great person, and she's really kindhearted. She sacrificed so many things in her life to live with my dad in an unfamiliar country without her family. But, my dad, who claimed that he had loved my mom to death, betrayed his wife pretty simply after more than 20 years living together. 

My poor mom got back to her own country with me to start a new life...

It has been pretty tough for her to handle our burdens all alone, and I was too young to have the power to support or help my mom. 

So, as you guys can see, this is why I don't believe that true love exists... 

Love is just an illusion, and you'll go back to your senses when it starts to disappear as time passes by...

My only goal in my life is to become a successful independent person and help my mom to have a better life...

I don't need any relationship...

I don't need love...

It's been almost three months since I've hired as CEO Kim Haru's personal assistant after I got graduated from university. All of his previous assistants resigned after a month because of his grumpy personality.

We can't deny his scary nature whenever he's angry since it has been difficult to work under him at times due to his temper. I kept crying in my early days at work... 

However, I noticed that he actually had impressive leadership and charisma as a boss, which was why I was more impressed by him rather than anything else. 

Also, he seems to be a good person despite what he shows others. The reason why I think like this is that he scolds me a lot, but it also helps me to correct my mistakes by explaining and teaching me more about work. He's not a judgmental or racist person, which makes me feel comfortable enough to work with him. 

He drives me home whenever we stay at work until late at night. He cares about his employees in any aspect...

He put himself in trouble to save me from a perverted guy when we were on a business trip.

And most importantly, he gives me extra bonuses~...

By the way, I kinda know why he was like that because there were some rumours about him around the office. I heard that Kim Haru had a boy lover who he really cared about for so long, but he married a woman instead for some unknown reasons. Then his lover broke up with him shortly after his marriage, and he got divorced due to that break-up. 

As a result, Kim Haru has kinda lost his mind and almost his company. Fortunately, he was able to bring his business back to life, even though he couldn't do the same for his relationship. 

I could see that in his lifeless eyes that he was suffering from his separation, although it's been a year since then. He's still haunted by the shadows of his lover...

I wondered who the person Kim Haru still wanted to this extent was...

How great must he have been to make someone go crazy about him?...

I was really curious to see his lover...

And, to tell you the truth, I'd never imagined that I'd meet Haru's ex-boyfriend at all...

However, one night, something unexpected happened...

After Kim Haru and I returned from our business trip, we've been busy working day and night. 

Until the night, we had a meeting dinner with one of his business investors. 

The two of them ordered alcohol and drank it along with their food as they continued their conversation about their future cooperative plans.

After saying goodbye to him, we walked to Kim Haru's car. Since he was pretty drunk, I led him to the passenger seat, and then I took the driver's side. "Sir, can you enter your home address?" I asked. 

He stared at me blankly for a few seconds as if he was trying to figure out what I had asked, and then he entered the address into the car's GPS. 

I started the engine and drove away to his destination. However, after driving for a few minutes, I got a bit suspicious since the address was way too far from his company, but I couldn't ask him since he was passed out. 

When we arrived, I saw a huge gate with a big board above it, saying, "Sunny Mental Health Hospital".

My eyes widened in confusion, and I shook Kim Haru's shoulder to wake him up. "Sir! Sir! Are you sure this is the right address?" 

He opened his eyes and looked at his surroundings, then answered, "This is~... My home~... He's my home~..."

I tilted my head in frustration, "Pardon me?! What do you mean?!"

Kim Haru groaned and got out of the car, reaching the entrance. I quickly got off and followed him in panic when the guard guy stopped him and said, "What do you want, Sir?"

Kim Haru shoved a one hundred bill into his hand and said, "I wanna meet a person for a brief moment."

"Do you know what time it is? Also, you seem drunk, Sir. Please take your money and go back!" He replied, irritated. 

I grabbed Kim Haru's arm and said, "Sir! What are you doing? Let's go!" But he shoved me away and knocked the guy to the ground with a hit.

I stared at the guy who collapsed on the ground in fear and then noticed Kim Haru running towards the building. I shouted anxiously as I followed him, "Sirrrrr!!!! Waaaaaiteee!! We'll be really in trouble this time!!!!! Sirrrrr!!!!" 

He entered the building without listening to me and dashed towards the stairs. 

Kim Haru headed upstairs in a split second and reached the second door with a guard. 

I muttered to myself as I was scared as hell when I noticed him talking to them, "No! No! No! He definitely will be sent to jail!"

The guard again refused to let Kim Haru in, so he started a fight with him. I approached him and wrapped my arms around his waist from behind, trying to stop what he was doing, but he was noticeably strong. 

He shoved both of us onto the floor and walked through the door as he was shouting, "Myung~... Myung~..." 

The guard guy and I stared at each other in shock for a moment. Then I said, "I'm so sorry! He's drunk! I'll try to stop him! Please bring someone to help us quickly!" 

I stepped into the long hallway and spotted Haru struggling to open the last room's door and banging on it loudly. "Myung, come out!!!!! Come with me!!! Pleaseeeee!!!" 

I was shocked, confused, and scared at the same time as I approached him, "Sir... Please... They'll call the police! We need to go back!!!" 

However, he didn't budge at all while I tried to pull him. 

I glanced at the door's window unconsciously and saw a boy standing in the middle of the room with his pale, scared face as if he was frozen in shock. 

That was when I noticed that must be his former lover!...

He's in an asylum?!!!!!

"What's going on here, Mr. Kim?" A deep, calm voice was heard from behind. 

I glanced back and saw a guy in a white uniform along with the guard guys. He was probably a doctor...

Haru stopped shouting and glared at the young doctor, "Open this door, Doctor... I need to talk to him..."

"You seem drunk, Mr. Kim. Please leave quietly..." The doctor said in return. 

Haru kicked the door in anger, "OPEN THIS FUCKIN DOOR!"

The doctor guy stepped closer to us and first looked at me and said with a smile on his face, "Can you stay away?"

I nodded and stepped back from them while my heart was pounding in my chest. 

Then he grasped Haru's arm and twisted it to the back so easily that my jaw dropped, pushing him against the wall as Haru was struggling to release himself from his grasp,"Let me go!!! You son of a gun!!". 

The doctor pulled out a syringe from his pocket and injected it into Haru's neck, sending him to sleep. 

My mouth was still wide open in shock, my eyes flickering between the guards taking Haru away as that doctor opened the room to check on the pale face boy there.

I wanted to stay and peek at his ex more, but I should've followed my troublemaker boss!

"Holly Shit! This is the most shocking news to me!" I muttered nervously as I ran after the guards.

Seo Dantae's POV: 

"Thank God I was on my night shift tonight..." I thought as I approached Myung. 

Myung was shivering in shock. His eyes were filled with tears and his face was as white as a sheet. I asked him, "Are you okay?" 

But there was no response from him and his focus was on the door behind me... 

I held his face in my palms, "Myung~... Look at me~..."

He stared at me while his eyes were wavering, still couldn't answer me, and then I said, "You're safe~... There's no need to scare." 

Myung was breathing hard as he finally replied, "What is~ he~ doing~ here?! How did~ he~ Find me?!"

"I'm not sure either~ " I muttered. 

I nuzzled his hair gently and then pulled him into my arms. "It's alright. Breathe slowly..."

Myung snuggled his head into my chest. "Is he okay?"

"Yeah. He'll just sleep for a while since he was drunk~" I replied.

He remained silent for a while and took a few deep breaths. 

Then he asked as he lifted his head up and stared at me with his sorrowful eyes, "Can I talk to Haru?"

I was taken aback by his sudden question because he wasn't willing to see Kim Haru this whole time. 

I'm not sure what Myung wants to say to him and also I'm not sure whether it is a good idea to let them talk or not...

I said, "I have to get permission from the president so let's see what will happen in the morning..."

He nodded quietly and then I led him back to his bed as I said, "I'll stay here just in case. Go back to sleep..."

Myung tucked under his blanket. "Thank you~ Dr. Seo."

As he called me "Doctor Seo", I felt my heart crumble in pain. I knew that I told him to treat me like his doctor and nothing more, but I couldn't stop myself from the sadness coming from my lingering feelings for him.

Myung fell asleep after a few minutes as I was sitting in the armchair, watching him.

A deep sigh released from my mouth...

As morning came, I went to the first floor and informed President Jeo about last night's incident. 

Unbelievably, President Jeo accepted them meeting each other!

So, firstly I walked to the room that Kim Haru has kept in since last night, taking a glance at him, still sleeping on the bed as that young boy was seated next to his bed, waiting with a worried expression on his face.

I asked, "May I know your name?"

He sprang up from his seat nervously and said, "I'm Alex Ray!"

+"I see. What's your relationship with him?"

-"I'm~ His personal assistant~ Sir!"

+"That's nice. No need to worry about your boss. He'll be awake soon."

-"Would the hospital call the police after he awakens?"

+"Em~ probably~"

He dropped his head in disappointment. "I see~"

While we were talking, Kim Haru finally opened his eyes after a groan, "Ah... My head hurtsss~"

I said with a smirk on my face, "Good morning, Mr. Kim!" 

Haru sat up on the bed, confused. "Where am I?!" 

"Don't tell me you don't remember what you did last night..." I said in a mocking way.

He then furrowed his eyebrows and after thinking for a few minutes he muttered, "Shit~"

I then said, "Park Myung wants to see you. Stay here until I bring him..."

His eyes widened in shock and he asked, "Really? Myung said that?!"

I sighed, "Yeah~ So wait right here~" and left the room after.

...This guy is on my nerves!...

I headed to the PICU after and stepped into Myung's room as he was sitting on his bed, waiting for me. I walked close to him and said, "Let's go... The President allowed us..."

He stared at me with an unexplainable expression on his face, "Okay."

I held his hand in mine, and we got out of the PICU together. 

Myung was trembling and breathing hard while we were walking to the room where Haru was. 

We finally reached the room and paused behind the closed door. 

I asked, "Are you ready?"

Myung nodded and said, "Yes"...
