After a few hours, Henry was awakened from his unwanted slumber. The scent of lumber and liquor filled the air, heightening his senses. Struggling to open his eyes due to a sudden flash of light, he found himself amidst a lively party. Old men danced atop a table, their jubilation amplified by the radiance of countless lights, overpowering the darkness that engulfed the village.
"Ooh, a party I might want to join," Henry mused, but his second thought restrained him.
"I think I may not fit in such a crowd." Covered in mud and debris, he decided to retreat to a quieter place, eventually wandering into a dimly lit alley.
Henry approached the faint glimmer of light, seemingly at ease in the darkness. As he ventured further, the party's commotion diminished, and the light grew brighter. Almost reaching the village walls, he stumbled upon a small, haphazardly constructed house made of wood and scattered nails.
"I'm home," Henry whispered to himself, entering the abode. Inside, a tiny bed occupied most of the space, and he succumbed to his exhaustion, dozing off instantly.
BANG!!! The deafening sound shattered the tranquility of Henry's sleep.
BANG!!! He initially assumed it was just celebratory fireworks.
BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!! The relentless noise grated on his nerves.
"What's up with that noise?" he yelled, his patience waning. Peering out the window near his bed, he tried to locate the source of the disturbance.
As the banging subsided, Henry seized the chance to confront the person responsible. Driven by irritation, he rushed toward the figure he had spotted from afar.
"Hey, man, you might want to tone down a little," Henry said, gesturing with his hands.
"I was trying to escape the noise, but... How about you join the party? I, Henry Botch, permit you to enter our village."
The person turned back, and Henry's eyes widened in astonishment.
"Alexander?" he exclaimed. Alexander appeared indifferent, taking a defensive stance.
"Hey, don't you dare ignore the Wall Guardian!" Henry insisted, stepping closer to Alexander.
“How about you, why won't you join such a party?” Alexander questioned, “Also, can you move aside as I was already given some privacy by the chief. This was the quietest area, but I think it’s not the case.”
Ignoring the question, Henry positioned himself beside Alexander, who instructed him to cover his ears. Henry, however, replied clumsily, “What if I won’t?” Unfazed, Alexander continued his training.
The two focused on their respective tasks. Alexander prepared for an attack, and just as Henry was about to blink...
BANG!!!
Worried about Henry's reaction, Alexander turned to see him surprisingly unfazed but displaying a shocked expression. "AGAIN!!!" Henry exclaimed, his voice echoing Alexander's previous sound. Alexander smiled faintly, resuming his training. Henry grew bored with the repetitive display.
Unable to contain his curiosity, he asked, "Why choose you?"
",Thats something even myself can answer, it was just the king's decision thats all." Alexander replied, showing a neutral emotion. "Maybe he saw something that I don’t." With that, Alexander walked back toward the village walls, leaving Henry behind.
Before Alexander entered the village, Henry inquired, “Can I join you, Alexander? And if I can’t, how long?”
Continuing to walk, Alexander questioned Henry, “How old are you, young one?”
“10,” Henry replied. Alexander raised his left hand, showing all five fingers. Henry immediately understood.
"Five years..."
In the dark, Alexander vanished into thin air. Intrigued, Henry chooses to stay and attempted to replicate the feat but laughed “How does he do it”, realizing it was beyond his abilities. Exhausted once more, he decided to return to his home inside the village walls...
Unaware of the aftermath of Alexander's attack, a once majestic mountain lay in ruins behind him.
