Staring at the stranger in front of him, for once during this whole ordeal,Mog felt like everything was going to be okay. All he had to do was bring the guardian to Doc and have him explain the whole situation.
"Are you really part of the order?" Mog asked, and part of him felt stupid. It was clear that the man had a cloak, and from what Mog remembered, the guardians wore cloaks, almost as if they were taking inspiration from Tholdir becoming a guiding light for the newly found souls.
The man shook his head as he was fumbling around in his pockets until he pulled out a beautiful turquoise circular pin. It resembled that of the souls the guardians were tasked with leading back home to Tholdir and back to Famuria.
"Is this proof enough, lad?" Costaark replied with a cheeky grin. He didn’t blame the guy for being too cautious; after all, buying or even making a cloak was something anyone could do. What most of the population didn’t know was that most true guardians carried this exact pin with them.
"Please follow me to the front car; I’m afraid we might need your help with something." Mog said
Hmm, would you mind if I asked another to come along with us, lad?" Costaark asked, After all, if trouble was truly afoot, then having two guardians would help.
"Wait, there’s another..."
Costaark nodded. "Yep, she’s a young one, not much older than my own boy, and she can handle her honey-shade ale just as well."
Not one but two guardians were here on the same train, and Mog couldn’t help but smile. Yes, things would get better. Doc would be so relieved to hear such wonderful news.
Yes, please find her, and you two come to the front car." Mog said he was turning around and heading back to the front.
One thing orcs were known for, besides being green and barbaric creatures, was that they had an above-average sense of smell. Of course, finding someone's particular scent was no easy feat, but at the same time, each individual had their own unique smell.
Costaark closed his eyes, using his hearing and smell to navigate through the slightly crowded train.
Despite his big size, the halfling was quite nimble as Costaark continued to dance through the crowds until he stopped at the dinner car.
"Ah, the sweet smell of honey." Costaark grinned as he walked inside, still using his sense of smell to find Elyn.
The half-orc couldn’t help but smile as he found the fellow guardian enjoying a delicious meal with her companions.
"Scue me, laddie;Hate to intrude, but the train staff might be needing our help." Coostaark said, lightly tapping Elyn.
Taking her eyes off of the delicious feast in front of her, Elyn turned her attention to Coostaark.
"Is everything okay?" she asked as Toll Keeper tilted his head with such wonder and curiosity. Meeting another guard was such a rare treat.
"A new friend, Elly?" The tollkeeper asked, savoring another sip of ale.
Elyn nodded as she began to get up.
"Costaark, this is Tollkeeper and Lillian."
"Nice to meet you." He waved.
The two quickly moved towards the front car as Coostaark explained the situation to Elyn.
"I have to say, laddie, I’m a bit curious about what’s going on in Mica." Coostaark said.
" Same." Elyn whispered, the thought of Adroks entering her mind. What if Mica , no, the Tollkeeper himself, said that it’s been at least a hundred years since the last Adrok sighting?
"You're alright, laddie." Coostaark asked.
"Um yeah, just a bit nervous... Coostaark, have you ever heard of the Adroks?" She said
