Holding his phone, Jack sneaked out of the school and made his way towards the government facility. Despite his injured leg, his walking speed was acceptable, even somewhat fast. Finally, Jack arrived at the facility and activated his skills.
"Stealth ," Jack whispered, and for a brief moment, his vision became blurry while he felt his body separating and coming back together repeatedly. After regaining his composure, he looked at his body and found it completely normal, not like a ghost as he had imagined. There were only a few small black marks on his neck, but he didn't notice them. He looked around and tried to signal to someone on the street, but received no response. He then attempted to intercept another person's path, and indeed collided with that person, but after rubbing his forehead, he continued on his way as if nothing had happened.
"Fascinating," Jack muttered to himself before turning around and entering the facility. Inside, he didn't need to sneak quietly; he could simply roam around comfortably without being seen or heard by anyone. After wandering for a while, Jack arrived in front of a massive steel door. He thought he could break it without anyone noticing, but he didn't know if his fingerprints would remain on the door or not. Therefore, he decided to take an employee's card. Fortunately, before he could search for a card, an employee came and opened the door.
"Thank you, sir," Jack expressed his gratitude, even though he wasn't physically present, and entered with the employee through the massive door into a spacious white room. Jack examined it carefully before his eyes fell upon a group of people discussing something. Jack approached them and began listening.
"No... I don't mean that, but it's better if we..."
"Stop talking nonsense! We don't know how or why he killed that old woman, so how can we even understand it?"
"I agree. It's been a while since the murder happened to the extent that the police took a lot of time just to uncover it."
"Let's leave that behind now and focus on our mission."
"Yes, let the police handle the killer. We have more important things to do."
Upon saying this, the man looked at the computer screen in front of him, which displayed numerous pictures of babies and individuals in a hospital.
"What do you think? Will we find a new case this year?"
"It's been over ten years since the last one. Well, I don't even know why we continue with this."
"Yes, man. We don't even know who that person is."
"Just observe silently. If we notice any of those recorded signs, we will report it."
Jack looked in the direction pointed by the man and found a group of papers carefully placed on the table, resembling a record. Jack grabbed those records and began reading them...
"Signs of the 'Person's' Appearance:
There are several signs indicating that the person has arrived, including:
- Displaying abilities that are disproportionate to their age.
- Surviving situations that should be impossible to survive.
- Showing signs of either genius or extreme ignorance.
- Total or partial memory loss.
- Noticeable changes in behavior.
- Alteration in personality.
- Ability to predict...
Jack noticed some of these pieces of information and couldn't figure out their purpose. Most likely, a unique individual appears in this world every ten years or so, and they are nurtured? Like a prophecy of the end of the world? Strange, I don't think they truly know what they're doing.
Jack placed the documents back on the table and focused more on the method of bypassing the monetary system and obtaining information about the terrorist organization if possible.
He found another device in front of him displaying various cards, numbers, and data on its screen.
Bingo! Jack sat in the vacant chair and began the hacking process. Someone like him, with a rich history in this field, wouldn't find it difficult to play with this simple technology. He quickly created a fake account and activated it to receive the money. Then he linked it to some other cards so he could take money from them in the form of taxes that they believed they were paying to the government, but it would actually go to the account owner. To avoid raising suspicion, he only imposed a very small tax percentage on 100 individuals. This way, it wouldn't appear as if they were being robbed. Finally, after solving the money problem, Jack still had some time to gather information about the location of the base. Unfortunately, all he found were police reports and some theories, but he continued copying them and made them his starting point in the search.
After completing this act of theft against the government, Jack left before the hour ended and went back home. There he found his mother in the kitchen.
"Oh, I forgot she was at home." Jack entered and greeted her, which surprised her. "Jack, my dear son, aren't you supposed to be at school now?"
"Oh, yes, but I have a headache and a strong desire to rest."
"Don't say more, my dear little son. If you want, you don't have to go to school this week. Don't worry about the lessons; your father will take care of it."
"Thank you, Mom." It was too easy.
When he went to his room and lay on his bed, the system window opened and displayed a new task for Jack.
Reward Mission: Locate and destroy the terrorist base – Reward: Obtain a new weapon.
Oh? A new mission? I thought it would be a long time before I received a new reward mission. Destroying the base....perfect
