When Meng Fei became aware, he was surrounded by a group of people, of both sexes, wearing long robes and wielding swords. The sharp edges of the blades weren't pointed directly at him, as Li Jiong was beside him, but he had the distinct impression that if he blinked, he would be sliced right away. He remembered Li Jiong's reaction to seeing him for the first time.
Sure enough, he warned his colleagues in advance so they wouldn't hurt him. Meng Fei was very grateful for that, as the eyes on him were not at all friendly. Wang Xui threw himself on his shixiong, hugging him tightly around the waist.
"You're alive! We've been looking for you all over the Canyon. Eh... What are those clothes?"
Taking the hint, Li Jiong hurried to explain himself.
"I've been sent to another world!"
Cultivators "..... Huh? Could this exist?"
"Yes! It was a strange world, where objects work by themselves and people wear this kind of clothing... Besides, it's overpopulated and they live in buildings bigger than the mountains..."
"Aham...Li Jiong, wouldn't it be better for you to ambush the demons before they realize the frame?" Meng Fei warned him by giving his shirt sleeve a little tug.
The cultivators stared at him with wide eyes. How dare he touch him so casually???
"Uh! True! All of you, Meng Fei here, uh... he accidentally came here when he opened the array. He came from the other world." He scratched his head, a little awkward to explain the situation now. "When we got here, he pretended to be the demon cultivator and lured all the demons down there. Let's make the Net Trap formation and trap them down there."
Despite the slanted glances at Meng Fei, the group obediently nodded and scattered along the edge of the Gorge. Li Jiong then took advantage of their exit and grabbed Meng Fei by the shoulders, pushing him close to the Peak wall that marked the entrance to the Gorge.
"What...?" Meng Fei felt dizzy from this sudden attitude.
Li Jiong grabbed his chin and forced him to look into those piercing black eyes.
"Meng Fei… wait for me here. Don't leave here, don't go anywhere! No one will hurt you, I won't allow it, okay? Do you understand?"
"Uh... yes..." Meng Fei was about to melt under that gaze. His face was boiling and so was another part of him below his navel.
"Promise you won't leave here!"
"I-I promise! Now go!" I need to get some air! Meng Fei thought in a daze.
Li Jiong was satisfied and left to help the group, leaving a flushed Meng Fei leaning against the wall. From where Meng Fei was standing, he could only watch, so he leaned back against the stone and crossed his arms.
Sending the demons to the bottom of the abyss he gave a good advantage to the group of cultivators, who, positioning themselves at strategic points in the Gorge, cast an array that resembled a fishing net.
While stopping the fearsome creatures, the spell weakened them. Now all that was left was to find the evil Meng Fei.
The other Meng Fei didn't have the keen eyesight of cultivators, so he could only see the black darkness of the abyss and the glowing net at the bottom. However, the matrix began to distort as if something forced its way out.
An icy wind rose from the bottom of that abyss and a small hole formed. A winged creature bolted out of the trap, followed by a few other demons.
"Oh, what the hell!" Meng Fei grumbled. It wouldn't be as easy as he had planned.
The winged creature had no eyes and its skin was wrinkled and a yellowish beige. Its membranous wings beat hard, hurling strong gusts of wind downwards.
"Li Jiong! How was your stay in Hell?" Demonic Meng Fei asked coldly, mounting the monster. Along with him were some of the strongest demons that managed to escape together, including a furious and deceived Han Man.
"He's not here! Where is he hiding?" The General roared angrily, looking for the copy of Meng Fei who had tricked him.
"What kind of tricks did you learn over there to be able to create a copy of me, uh Jade Imperial Crane?" He uttered the last words in a mocking tone.
"I didn't create a copy of you! There are others of you in other worlds! Very nice people by the way!"
"Really? And by the way he's also very cunning, I'd like to see that other me you mention. Maybe that way you can believe this story! That's just an excuse for you to have run away and left the others behind."
Li Jiong gritted his teeth in anger. "Didn't you yourself ask earlier how I was in the hell you sent me to? How could I have run away?"
"And truth!" Wang Hui shouted along and added "Stop slandering him! If you don't believe it, then go to the peak and see the other with your own eyes!"
"Wang Hui!" Li Jiong scolded him but it was too late. Hearing this, Meng Fei urged the winged demon to climb the Peak. Li Jiong cast his sword, but the few generals who came out of the net blocked him. With a rumble like thunder, Li Jiong countered the first blow, delivered by a double ax from one of the demons. It was the same creature with an ox skull and moth wings that he had seen the night they broke into the Pass.
Some of the cultivators joined him while the others maintained the array. Li Jiong fought with all his might. A panic formed in his chest. I promised no one would hurt him! He remembered. From the top of the Peak, Meng Fei was still waiting for the turmoil to end in the Gorge. Eagerly, he nibbled on the tip of his finger, wondering what the next step should be if this plan went wrong.
He saw a bizarre creature come out of the abyss and land next to him. A curiously familiar face jumped up and stared at him, long hair blowing in the wind. They both frowned at the same time, looking each other up and down.
"Oh, so it's true. You tricked that idiot by impersonating me." Meng Fei 1 commented with disdain.
"It's you, the bastard that's tarnishing my reputation." Meng Fei 2 retorted with disinterest, although he still found it strange to look at himself with his long hair. "By the way, could you draw that transmigration matrix? I need to get back home. I have work to do tomorrow. I can't miss work."
Meng Fei 1 laughed scornfully. "And why should I do that? Do you know what you did?"
The eyes of Meng Fei 2 narrowed and glittered dangerously. "Oh, of course I know. I made a big mess of it, didn't I? And if you don't send me back soon I could ruin your life for good."
At that moment, Li Jiong managed to break free from the demons and mounted his sword to fly quickly to the top. Please don't be too late! Both demons and cultivators followed right behind, chasing each other.
Meanwhile, Meng Fei 1 was irritated. He had already heard several threats, but this coming from himself made him shudder a little. It was better to get rid of this person before something worse happened.
"Jiegang!" He summoned the whip and hurled it at his rival, unleashing the deadly sparks as Li Jiong emerged from the mouth of the abyss. He couldn't hold back a cry:
"Meng Fei!"
Author's Note:
Li Jiong trembled at the base now. What about the one pressed against the wall? Meng Fei even lost air 😅. I hope you're enjoying this novel, little flowers. Comment what you think to help me write better! 🥰
