The next morning, Ash woke up to the sound of his phone buzzing on the coffee table. Sleepy and disoriented, he reached out to grab it but didn't pick it up fast enough "hey, just wanted to check up on you guys? Everything okay?" His mom messaged. "Yeah, everything is fine. Stop worrying mom" Ash replies back. "Alright honey, can you have your sister call me?" Ash glances over at Ava still sound asleep on the couch. "She's in the shower right now but I'll let her know later" he replies, "alright. Bye honey" he clicks his phone screen off, leaning back while letting out a sigh.

He looked at Ava again, still sleeping peacefully beside him. Last night weighed heavily on his conscience. He knew deep down that what they had done was wrong, morally reprehensible even but there was no turning back now. Ash contemplated what to do. "Should I wake her?" he asked himself. So many thoughts ran through his mind in such a short amount of time. "Do I regret what we did? I feel guilty but I'm not sure if that means I regret it. Will she regret it when she wakes up, will she hate me? be disgusted by me?" He tried to shake off the thoughts by going and taking a warm shower.

After finishing his shower and drying off he threw on a pair of grey sweatpants and a black T-shirt. after getting changed, He walked back into the bathroom. Turning the water on and filling the bathtub with semi-hot water before walking back into the living room to wake Ava.

To his surprise, she already awake, sitting up on the couch. Her eyes met his as he entered the room, and there was an obvious awkward silence between them. "Morning," Ash finally managed to say, Ava nodded and smiled slightly. "I uh- I ran a bath for you," Ash said hesitantly, desperate to break the tension. "Thought you might want it when you woke up." Ava looked towards the bathroom and then back at him. "Thanks," she said softly before getting up from the couch and going to the bathroom. Ash watched her go, feeling an odd mixture of relief and anxiety. He did his best to keep busy, put comfy clothes on the couch for when she got out, cleaned up the mess on the coffee table and decided to order some breakfast, feeling far too hung over to cook.

Ash stood in the kitchen, scrolling through the breakfast options on his phone as he waited for the coffee to finish brewing. Ava finished her shower to find Ash in the kitchen making coffee. She hugged him from behind and asked him to make her some, Obviously still very sleepy. "Good morning," he replied. "What are you doing?" she asked. Ash held up his phone. "Breakfast" he replied playfully. "What ya want? Pancakes? Bacon? Or maybe some French toast?" Ava yawned

"French toast sounds nice," Ava says, "Maybe a bagel sandwich." Ash smiles back, "so French toast with a side of bacon to share? One bagel sandwich with turkey, cheddar cheese and lettuce for you, one croissant sandwich for me, a mango lemonade for me and...a raspberry pineapple drink? For you?" He says to confirm before placing the order. "Sounds good" Ava says as she walked over to the couch to put the cloths on Ash had laid on the couch for her. Pulling her leggings up, still wrapped in her towel, putting the pink long sleeve shirt over her, and removing the towel while she pulls the shirt down. "Hey, uh. mom called by the way," Ash said casually, still feeling awkward about last night. "She just wanted to make sure we were okay." - "Oh alright" Ava replies. Everything seems so awkward Ash thought to himself, "how could it not be? I came on her hand for fuck sake, i can't even imagine what she is thinking or feeling right now, or what she must think of me. she seemed okay, but i guess to her i might also seem okay" Ash glanced over at Ava who was looking down at her phone. Something felt off between them now - an invisible barrier that had suddenly developed overnight.

"hey," Ash began cautiously, "About last night. Probably best we just forget about it, right?" His voice was awkward and abit shaky. Ava looked up from her phone for a moment before looking away again. There was a slight sadness in her eyes that made Ash's heart ache. "Yeah," she replied softly, attempting to sound unaffected by everything. "Probably for the best."

Ash bit his lip nervously, unsure of how to proceed without making things even more awkward than they already were. He just wanted things to be okay. just as Ash was about to say something they hear a knock at the door, he walks over to opened the door, delivery guy standing there with their breakfast. He handed them their drinks and bag of food, though his eyes seemed to look at Ava for a moment too long. Which visibly annoyed ash, he closed the door and walked back to the couch,

Setting their drinks on the coffee table, Ash placed the bag down before taking the food from it and placing it onto the table. Ash sat on the couch, while Ava sat on the floor, leaning up against the couch. An awkward silence settled over them once again. He stole glances at Ava from time to time, wondering if she felt the same heaviness in her chest. Did she regret what they had done? Or was she just as lost and confused as he was? Ava caught him staring. "What?" she asked. Ash shrugged uncomfortably, unable to come up with a funny or sarcastic response like he usually did. "Nothing," he said softly before taking another bite of his sandwich. They continued eating in silence for a while longer until Ava finally broke it again. "So. what now?" she asked cautiously.

Ash sighed deeply before answering with equal uncertainty in his voice. "I don't know. I guess we just carry on like nothing happened?" Ava's phone buzzed. "I guess so" she says while picking her phone up off the table and opening it to see a message from their mom. "Hey, just wanted to let you know that we'll be back tomorrow morning instead of the day after. Can't wait to see you both!" Ava looked back up at Ash and couldn't help but notice how distant he seemed, lost in his own thoughts. She sighed, realizing that carrying on like nothing happened might not be an option. "Mom said they are gonna be back in the morning," Ava said "alright, guess we better replace that vodka" replied Ash. His words reminded them both of last night. "Yeah, I'll order it for delivery in abit" says Ava

They didn't really speak much for the rest of the day aside from Ava asking Ash if he wanted her to make him some food that night when she was making herself dinner, aside from that it was mostly just occasional glances at the other person. Ash spent most of his day playing games with some friends. While Ava mostly watched some Netflix in the living room. it was a rather normal day, they both opted to take their dinner to their rooms rather then eating in silence again. they both felt very restless but eventually both managed to fall asleep.
