As they finished eating, Ning Yu let out a big sigh and patted her stomach, "Oh my goodness, I think I'm going to explode! I haven't eaten that much in ages."
Li Na chuckled, "I'm glad you enjoyed it."
Li Na and Ning Yu walked out of the restaurant, and Li Na couldn't help but glance at Li Jing, who was still standing in the corner with a guy. Ning Yu was too busy holding her stomach and groaning about being stuffed to notice.
"Hey, how about we take a walk to help digest the food?" Li Na suggested, hoping to distract Ning Yu from her full stomach.
Ning Yu groaned again but agreed, and they began walking down the street.
Suddenly, they heard a loud crash and saw a guy running away from a broken store window. Li Na and Ning Yu froze for a second, unsure of what to do. Then, Li Na spotted a lady standing in front of the store, tears streaming down her face.
Without hesitation, Li Na rushed over to the lady. "Are you okay?" she asked, placing a hand on her shoulder.
The lady shook her head, still crying. "He took my bag," she sobbed.
Ning Yu came over to join them, and they comforted the lady before the police arrived.
Li Na's eyes narrowed as she saw the guy holding her stolen bag. She turned to the young lady and said, "Don't worry, I'll get it back."
Without another word, Li Na sprinted after the guy. She weaved through the crowded streets, pushing past people in pursuit of her thief. As she closed in on him, he turned and threw a punch, but Li Na was ready. She deftly dodged the blow and countered with a swift kick to his gut.
The thief stumbled back, but quickly regained his footing and swung again. Li Na ducked under the punch and delivered a powerful uppercut to his jaw. The guy stumbled back, but still refused to let go of the bag.
Li Na gritted her teeth and charged at him, using the fighting skills she had honed in her past life. She delivered a series of quick jabs and kicks, each blow landing with a satisfying thud. The thief was no match for her, and soon he was sprawled on the ground, dazed and defeated.
Li Na scooped up the bag and turned to leave
Breathless, Li Na returned to the store, her heart pounding in her chest. She found Ning Yu with her arm around the young lady who had her bag stolen, trying to comfort her.
"What happened, Li Na?" Ning Yu asked, concern on her face.
Li Na approached them with the bag in her hand, "Here's your bag, I got it back," she said, panting.
The lady looked up at her, her eyes red and puffy from crying. "Thank you so much," she said, tears streaming down her face.
The lady introduced herself to Li Na and Ning Yu. My name is Gong Li.
Li Na and Ning Yu turned to face the young lady. "Nice to meet you, miss. Gong Li," Li Na and Ning Yu said with a smile.
Gong Li returned the smile. "Thank you both so much for your help. I don't know what I would have done without you," she said gratefully.
As Gong Li thanked Li Na and Ning Yu, she took out a sleek black business card from her pocket and handed it to Li Na. The card was simple yet elegant, with a silver embossed logo of the jewelry store and Gong Li's name and position in bold letters.
"I can't thank you enough for what you've done," Gong Li said, her voice still shaky from the ordeal. "That bag contains some confidential materials for my business, and I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't retrieved it for me."
Li Na and Ning Yu both looked surprised. "Confidential materials?" They repeated.
Gong Li nodded. "Yes, some important documents and jewelry that I was transporting for a client. I don't even want to imagine what could have happened if they fell into the wrong hands."
Li Na and Ning Yu shuddered at the thought. "Well, we're just glad we could help," Li Na said.
Gong Li smiled gratefully. "I really appreciate your kindness. And please, if you ever need anything in the future, don't hesitate to give me a call."
Li Na nodded. "Thank you, we definitely will."
Li Na and Ning Yu walked out of the jewelry store. Ning Yu, as usual, tried to lighten the mood.
"Wow, Li Na, you're like a real-life superhero! Fighting off bad guys and saving stolen bags! You should be in the movies!" Ning Yu joked, trying to make Li Na smile.
Li Na laughed softly, "I don't know about that. I just did what I thought was right."
"Well, you definitely did the right thing. And it looks like we made a new friend too," Ning Yu said, referring to Gong Li's business card.
Li Na nodded, "Yeah, I guess we did."
Ning Yu nudged her, "You should call her and ask for a reward! Maybe she'll give us some diamonds!"
Li Na rolled her eyes, " I didn't do it for a reward. I just wanted to help."
Ning Yu grinned, "I know, I know. You're a real hero."
Li Na smiled, feeling a bit more at ease. "Thanks, Ning Yu. And thanks for being there with me."
"Of course, Li Na. That's what friends are for," Ning Yu replied, giving her a warm smile.
The two friends continued to walk down the busy street, their laughter echoing through the bustling city.
As they reached the bus station, Li Na and Ning Yu stopped walking and turned to face each other.
"Well, I guess this is where we part ways," Ning Yu said, a hint of sadness in her voice.
"Yeah," Li Na replied, nodding. "It was nice hanging out with you today."
"Definitely. We should do it again sometime," Ning Yu suggested, a grin spreading across her face.
Li Na smiled back. "I'd like that. Take care, okay?"
"You too," Ning Yu said as she waved goodbye and headed towards her bus.
Li Na watched her friend go before turning to look at the buses arriving and departing. She spotted her own bus pulling into the station and hurried towards it.
As she settled into her seat and the bus pulled away, Li Na couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction wash over her. Today had been eventful.
She leaned her head back against the seat, closed her eyes, and let out a deep breath. It was going to be a long ride home.
