Holding on to her determination, Sofia embarks on an arduous struggle to survive in the urban jungle. Low-paying jobs, discrimination because of her immigrant status and the constant threat of deportation accompany her on her journey.

Nostalgia for her homeland invades her in the most difficult moments. She misses the warmth of her family, the homemade food and the quiet pace of life in her small town. However, she knows that she cannot go back, that she has bet on this new life and that she must move on.
