Louis was sleeping while Indigo stared at his beautiful, tired face. She then remembered her mission and redressed herself before going into his bathroom to get him a drink of water. She looked under the cabinet next to the bathroom door and took a plastic cup with her. She pulled out a bottle of poison and dropped some into his water. She smirked before putting it back into her purse and turning around, only to see Louis behind her. She gasped, then smiled.
"Don't scare me like that, Louis.". He laughed, hugging her. "I'm sorry, mon amour.", he muttered while yawning. Indigo fake smiled and handed him the cup of water. "Here, darling. Take a drink.". Louis kissed her as he took the cup, then dropped it. "Oh, mon dieu! I'm so sorry, Ivy. I'll clean up the water.", he said. Indigo turned around to grab a rag to clean, but suddenly Louis pulled a knife from his pant pockets and put it to her throat. "Move and you die, Indigo. Go back to your little Mr. Sato and tell him he's in danger.", he said, a growl present in his voice. Said growl would have been sexy if not for the current situation. Indigo sighed, saying "I'm sorry, Louis.".
He smiled, saying "Oh, I'm used to it, darling. You're not the first woman to try to murder me. Luckily, they all started it the way you did so I've gotten amazing at making them have a good time.". Indigo slipped under his arms before laughing and responding "Yeah, I'll give you that.". Louis smiled and laughed, saying "Yeah, yeah. Get out, Miss Hanzai.". Indigo smiled before walking out of his room and realizing what just happened. She collapsed against his door and then rubbed her eyes while pulling out her phone, and calling Mr. Sato. "Good morning, my darling daughter.", he says. "Is it done?". Indigo's lip quivered before she started sobbing. "Indigo, are you alright?", he confusedly asked. "No! I'm not alright... I failed to take him out.". Mr. Sato sighed, asking "It's fine, darling. Did you at least try your best?". Indigo rubbed her eyes, saying while crying "I mean, yeah... He caught me off guard, I'm so sorry!". Mr. Sato shushed her over the phone, saying "Indigo, listen to me. It's ok. He's dangerous. You must have tried so hard, and you could have done it easily.", She sniffled and wiped a tear from each eye, and responded "You think so?". "I know so, Indie.", He said. She smiled, saying "T-thank you, father.". Mr. Sato smiled and took his cigar from his mouth. "It's what fathers do.". Indigo gave a painful smile, saying "I'll go now. B-bye, father.". "Bye, Indigo.", he responded. Just as she closed her phone, she heard a voice above her.
"You ok?", the voice said. She looked up to see Emily asking the question, with Rose and Keiko holding hands next to her. Indigo smiled, wiping her tears away. "Guys! Yeah, I'm fine.". Keiko giggled, asking "So, did you zonk him?", to which she looked down in shame, shaking her head. Rose annoyedly stared at her, asking "Wait, what the hell do you mean, you didn't kill him?". Keiko poked Rose before saying "Give her a break, Rosie. Can't you see she's having a hard time?". "Shut up.", Indigo muttered, which made the girls gasp. Emily kneeled, saying "Hey, we're your friends. We're here for you.". Indigo looked up at her and blinked, letting a tear fall from her eyes. Emily smiled at this, knowing Indigo really did trust her and her friends to let a tear fall. Emily wiped Indigo's tears before reaching out her hand to tell her to get up. "Let's go.", she said.
I listened to Shoot Him Down by Alice Francis while writing this and it added to the experience a lot. Fun little thing, Indigo tends to stutter a lot when she's sad or stressed.
