I sat cross legged on the grass next to Kanata's unconscious body.
"She just needs rest," Nexus was saying. "A Darksouls' MP acts as part of its SP. So, the more MP they use, the more tired they get."
"And she just used ten thousand MP. . ." Arya said. "Wait. Can't we just use an MP potion or something?"
"I don't know," Nexus said. "Probably?"
"Let's try," Arya said. She opened up her bag and dug through it, searching for something. Nexus brought her tail around to look at Kanata.
"She's an Oceanic Darksoul," Nexus said. "But she has electric magic. Huh."
"How can you tell she's an Oceanic Darksoul?" Fei asked.
"Her body isn't emitting any warmth," Nexus said. "That means she's cold-blooded, which means she's an Oceanic Darksoul."
"You can see heat with your tail?" I asked.
"Yep!" Nexus replied.
"What's it like?" Arya asked. "Having a snake-head-tail, I mean."
"I have no idea how to describe it," Nexus said. "It's a bit weird to be able to see two things at once. I can move it as easily as I can my arm, but its longer. I've closed a door on it a few times before."
"How long is it going to get?" Fei asked.
"No clue. It's already four fucking feet long," Nexus said.
"Can you eat with it?" I asked.
"No," Nexus said. "But I can breath through it."
"Found it!" Arya shouted suddenly. She pulled a small glass bottle filled with a red liquid from her bag. She popped the top off and tipped the contents into Kanata's mouth. For a second, nothing happened. Then her eyes flickered open. The irises were a sark purple that matched her Darksoul form.
"What. . ?" she said, trying to sit up. "What happened?"
"You passed out," Nexus said.
"Oh," Kanata said. She looked down at her current clothes and stared at them. After a second, they transformed into long pants and a loose t-shirt. Her hair faded back to its normal red, her tails dissapeared, and her skin faded back to a normal color. Socks and shoes formed themselves arround her feet.
"Woah. . ." Fei said. "Cool."
"How'd you do that?" Arya asked.
"An ability," Kanata said. Her voice still had an underlying tone, even in human form.
"How many new ones did you get?" I asked.
"Seven Abilities and six Skills," Kanata replied. "But four of the skills I can only use when I use True Soul."
Suddenly Rayne dashed up to us, skidding along the ground. "Hey guys. What the hell was that beam? It came from this direction."
"That'd be me," I said.
"What?" Rayne shouted. "No way you just. . ."
"True Soul," I told him.
"Ah," He said. "That make's a lot more sense."
"We should probably head back to the building," Arya said.
"Yeah," I agreed.
1 day later. . .
I pushed open the door and rushed inside the room. Ariel bounded alongside me, Kanata and my younger sister Saty following behind.
"Julius!" I shouted, seeing my older brother standing by a large window. He turned to see me and smiled.
"Shun!" He said. "It's so nice to see you."
"Brother!" Saty said. She rushed forward and embraced Julius.
"Saty!" He said, hugging her back. "And Kanata!"
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"We were in the area heading toward one of the warfronts and decided to stop by," A tall, blonde-haired man about the same age as Julius said.
"Tiran?" I said. "You're here too?"
"All of my Party is," Julius said. "But only us two decided to see you. The others are re-stocking supplies in town."
"I heard you guys managed to take down an [Earth Wyrm]," Tiran said. "How in Aelyn did you manage that?"
"We've made some friends," Kanata said. "We helped each other out."
"Hmm," Julius said. "Well, we should probably get going. We have some battles to get to."
"Goodbye," I said.
"Bye bye!" Saty said, waving as the two men left. Once they had, she plopped herself down on the couch right next to Ariel. She began to pet her, her fingers stroking the soft white feathers that ran down Ariel's spine. Ariel began to hum softly.
I chuckled to myself.
"What?" Ariel asked scathingly, opening one green eye to glare at me.
"I was just thinking about something," I said. "Imagine if Mira and Sky could see you now."
"Shut up," Ariel growled.
"What are you talking about?" Saty asked.
"Nothing," I said. "Come on, let's go back to our rooms."
A classic story.
A girl from Earth dies. An explosion destroys half the school, but the students are brought into another world that works like an RPG game.
They have their own story. I won't be the one telling it. They will.
