The masked mercenaries walk towards the fire. Karni is standing adjacent to them.

The male mercenary - "Were you chased?"

Karni pauses for a moment, then replies - "Ya."

The male mercenary - "Being here is not safe. I'll inform Arkha about the situation. They'll make the necessary arrangements."

Karni nods.

Both mercenaries walk away. Karni stares at the sky. The moonlight is brighter than usual. He sits down on a pile of hay, observing the beauty of the night sky.

Varaha returns and hears about the news about the marriage. The Pragat family have decided to back away from the marriage. Varaha quickly walks to meet Rashva.

Rashva is sitting on the garden swing.

Varaha approaches but he sees Vikara walking towards them from the vineyard.

Varaha - "What happened?" 

His concern breaks the tension a little.

Rashva - "They won't accept matrimony as long as Karni is alive. They want him dead."

Varaha - "But we can't do that. We need to convince them another way."

Rashva - "Some people are not interested in being convinced." Rashva stares at Vikara.

Vikara - "Being convinced requires some good reasoning. This situation lacks that severely."

Rashva stands up - "The marriage needs to happen. That's all I really care about!"

Rashva walks away towards the green room.

Varaha looks at his brother saddened - "You both still fight. I had hoped things would change with time."

Vikara - "Some things never change. It's a dog-eat-dog world. You should be wary, even of your blood."

Varaha is surprised by the hostility displayed by Vikara.

The Ihachita woman has found the camp where Karni is hiding. She seems rather casual and simply walks up to Karni. Karni is too distracted by his thoughts to notice her presence.

The Ihachita woman - "Hey."

Karni is taken aback but retains his composure - "You?"

The woman - "They have issued a bounty on you. It's a huge sum. Twenty thousand in gold."

Karni shows no emotions to this news - "So you're here to kill me. Must say that's a horrible idea."

The woman - "If I really wanted to kill you, we would not be having this conversation. I wanted to know how you're doing after all this time."

Karni - "Great. It's a relief to have quit the arena."

The woman - "But now you're back."

Karni - "And now I'm back. Not in the mood for your lecture."

The woman - "No more lectures...I want to let you know...the bounty is not going to make your life any easier. So...run away...as fast as you can. They are coming for you."

Karni has his head down.

The Ihachita woman walks away outside the camp. Karni sees her ride away in the moonlight.

The mercenaries have returned.

The male mercenary - "Was that Mayitri Ihachita?"

Karni - "Yes. I have a bounty on my head. It's 20000 gold. I'm the most wanted man in Urvarakshetra."

The male mercenary - "This could be troublesome. We should move out right away."

Karni stands up and follows the mercenaries. They sneak out of the camp and saddle up their horses. All three disappear into the dark void of the woods.
