The transport that was waiting for them was a four-wheeled carriage with two horses pulling it. It was very luxuriously designed, as if were designed specifically for a king. There were two rows of seats as well as a space for the man driving the carriage. As soon as Arthur saw it he looked baffled.
'Hey, this is the carriage that my dad got because he got too fat to ride a horse, right?'
'Ermmm, yes' said Norman.
'Well, let's get on it anyway'
Robert and Norman sat on the front row, while Arthur and Lydia sat on the back row. A group of knights on horses surrounded the carriage, and once everything was ready, it was time to leave Rosethorne Castle. This time however, they left through the north of the city and lead through by a very long road. There were many farms and trees at the north of the city, and the city in general. While on the road Arthur and Lydia, as mentioned, were sitting next to each other in the carriage.
'You know Arthur, I can't stop thinking about... him.' Arthur looked really annoyed to hear this.
'He's a killer Lydia! There! Now move on, and forget he ever even existed!'
'Yeah, but... he never hated her or anything, I just never got why he needed to kill her. As a matter of fact they seemed to really like each other!'
'Well, there you have it, he was having an affair with her and the best way to end it was to kill her!'
'But... that's so cruel! The Edward I knew would never do that!' Arthur just glared at her.
'Just think about it Lydia, they were kind of made for each other, Edward was always, you know, the smart kind of guy and Stephanie was kind of like that too-'
'OK Arthur, whatever. Let's talk about something else, as you said, he's a murderer'
'OK. Though now that I remember it all, it was so horrible. The day Stephanie died was absolutely the worst day of my life, I had never felt so miserable before, not since my mum died' Lydia paused, with a sombre look on her face.
'How did your mother die?'
'She killed herself' Lydia then gasped. `Really? I'm... so sorry to hear that.' She then cuddled Arthur and rubbed his shoulder. The carriage passed through other chariots, of which were carrying trade goods. ‘Why did she kill herself?'
'I don't know, she seemed pretty happy with her life, well... except for being married to my father of course. I don't know why she married him to be honest, hell, why would anyone marry him?' Lydia then looked into Arthur's eyes looking somewhat mad.
'Oh come on Arthur! Even I can tell she married him just to become queen!'
'Yeah, but still…' They were then travelling though the vast road that was taking them, they crossed over a bridge which was above a large chasm the bridge itself was made out of stone and had arches which were stretched towards the bottom of the chasm, it wasn't that deep though, it would never have been built otherwise.
'Lydia, I know I'm going to sound like a total hypocrite and blow everything I just told you out the water, but do you still love Edward in a way?' Lydia didn't answer, she just sat there in silence, she looked as if she was about to cry.
`No, I hate him! He's a murderer! And he's so full of himself too!' Arthur looked kind of happy to hear that. Lydia then started crying. ‘Why did he kill her? He probably never loved me anyway! All that mattered to him were his spells and his stupid books! Oh and all his stupid chess games that I could never win!’ Lydia really looked as if she were going insane at this point, Arthur cuddled her, he looked as if he were tring to calm her down.
