Vikara shoves the mercenary aside and picks up an apple from a basket.

Vikara - "Karni hasn't arrived then..."

The male mercenary - "He will be here. We were thinking...where would we move him?"

Vikara - "He is not exactly an object to be moved. It's quite hard to move a man without a few people noticing. Especially when said man is declared dead."

Vikara takes a bite of the apple.

The male mercenary - "We should take him to a village within our stronghold."

Vikara - "Or we can take him to the Khasi village. Kill every last one of them!"

Vikara's serious expression fades, and then he laughs - "I have a terrible sense of humour. You are right. Let's take him to Nerosaar. He'll be safe there."

The male mercenary - "The people there would pelt stones at him. They may even try to kill him. Is it such a wise idea?"

Vikara takes another bite and says - "The chief of Nerosaar is an old companion. He won't let any harm befall on Karni."

The male mercenary nods in agreement.

Vikara hears a galloping horse approaching them. He looks over his shoulders and recognizes the man approaching. Dressed in black drapes with a golden arm. His hair is long and flailing with the speed of the wind. His right eye seems to have a golden ornament surrounding it, held on by two golden strings attached to the side and the top, much like an eyepatch.

Vikara drops the apple.

The horse is stationed in a shed. Karni ties the horse to a wooden fence.

Vikara - "Ready to get your revenge?!"

Karni is quiet and keeps his head down.

Vikara smiles and says - "No? Has Irdan scared you that much?"

Karni remains silent.

Vikara is annoyed with the silence - "Take him to Nerosaar. Make sure he doesn't run into Irdan again."

Karni for a brief moment makes eye contact with Vikara when he hears Nerosaar, but immediately drops his head.

Both the mercenaries walk towards the shed to saddle their horses.

Karni stands still, not moving an inch.

Vikara - "Go on. Don't worry...I made sure Nerosaar was safe."

Karni with a low and deep voice says - "I will give you Irdan's head in the tournament."

Vikara smiles.

Karni walks away.

Vikara's face gleams with excitement.

A young man arrives at the Vyasa Estate.

The guards try to corner the young man using their weapons.

Varaha intervenes and lets the man inside the estate grounds.

The young man smiles and says - "Remember me?"

Varaha - "Forgive me. I have a terrible memory."

The young man - "I am Baldur from the Horgi farm. My father and I came to seek help from your family. You and Karni helped us."

Varaha - "You need not have travelled all this way to say a thank you."

The young man - "No. I was hoping to meet Vikara."

Varaha - "Something you wish to tell him?"

The young man - "I know I'm a low-born. I'm no warrior either. But if given a chance..."

Varaha stops him immediately - "You wish to live the life of a rogue? Or do you wish to die in the tournament? I can help you with the coin or if you wish to move to a better farmland. You wouldn't be owing me nothing."

The young man - "I wish to serve Master Vikara."

Varaha - "Rumour has it that Karni was killed by Irdan. You're not safe here."

The young man - "I saw him. I saw Karni alongside two masked mercenaries. They seem to be headed to the south in Nerosaar."

Varaha - "He's alive! So...what about Vikara? Did you see him?"

The young man - "No. I thought he'd be here. Well then, I should get going. It's getting dark. Thank you once again, Master Varaha. We shall forever be grateful for what you did for us."

Varaha nods.

The young man walks out of the estate.

Varaha feels a sense of relief hearing the news of Karni being alive.
