He walked through the foyer glass in hand and looked through the small window at the top of the door before opening it. Seeing the wild red hair tamed back in a bun he breathed a sigh of relief and opened the door to allow Calleigh inside.
When the door opened the sight before Calliegh caused her to blush a deep red across her cheeks and ears. She looked to the side and cleared her throat slightly to attempt to regain her composure at Mode's state of relaxed dress. "Good evening, I brought the photos." She glanced out of the corner of her eye trying not to stare too hard at his exposed collarbones and well muscled chest that was peeking through the V of his shirt.
Mode slightly amused by her reaction gave a slight smirk and stepped to one side motioning her into the house. "Come on in I'm sure you don't want to stand out there all evening." Calleigh nodded still blushing and slid in past him through the doorway taking mental note of the drink in his hand she was reminded of the evening before and the whole reason she was here to begin with.
Once Calleigh was in the foyer Mode shut and locked the door behind her then turned, "would you like something to drink? I don't have much to offer but I can at least offer you some water." Calleigh was relieved that he didn't offer her anything similar to the liquid in his glass though it had the appearance of wine, she had a feeling from their previous night's conversation that there was more than wine in his glass. "A glass of water sounds nice," she said with a half grin still unable to look at him.
Mode walked back to the kitchen and set his glass on the counter. Calleigh followed at a slight distance. Out of one of the cabinets Mode pulled down a regular glass and went over to the sink. The faucet was one that required pumping and in no time at all Mode plied his lean yet muscular arms to the pumping of the handle, shortly bringing water up and filling the glass. He then turned and approached officer Calleigh handing it to her. "You know officer my eyes are up here" he chuckled as he handed her the water watching her side eye his open collar again. After doing so he walked over to the counter taking his glasses off his shirt and setting them down on the counter next to his glass as he took a moment and rebuttoned the top button that he had undone earlier. He then picked up his glass and turned around leading the way to the sitting room.
In the sitting room across from the chair Mode regularly sat in there was a second chair covered with a cloth which Mode removed revealing a chair identical to his own by the fireplace. Each chair had an end table sitting next to it and a tall gas floor lamp just behind the table. It was still light enough in the evening that the room was still well lit from the setting sun but Mode already had a low fire burning in the fireplace which he fed a couple more logs to before ushering Calleigh to have a seat across from his own as he sat down in his chair and sat his glass on the table. Calleigh sat in the chair across still holding on to the pile of papers and folder with the images of the crime scenes.
Calleigh set the water on the table and began putting piles of papers on the floor in front of the chair fishing out the folder with the photos. Modeus watched the chaos unfold in front of him amused as he sipped on his wine and blood mixture. Finally after making several small piles in front of the chair where she was sitting she handed the folder to Modeus. "These are the photos they took some from several different angles and they should still be organized by scene." Mode took the envelope and looking at the piles across from him simply muttered I sure hope so.
