Ankit meets Tarun at that same construction site and tries to convince him to drop the remake in vain. Tarun tells him he has lost all faith in him and would find it hard to trust anyone in the industry thanks to his plagiarism. Ankit tries to justify his actions again and again but Tarun refuses to be convinced. He tells him to go and make an original film if he really feels ashamed of his actions, or just quit the industry himself otherwise the hatred on the internet might affect him and his family negatively.
Tarun launches his own production company and begins bankrolling the project himself. This makes Ankit feel insecure and he decides to finally work on an original script. He begins working hard to come up with an original script and declares it in a press conference that he won't do remakes anymore and is officially sorry for stealing ideas and stories in the past. Meanwhile, Tarun continues to work on the remake and realizes Ankit is indirectly trying to challenge him. Ankit indirectly taunts him in an interview by stating he has moved on from the era of remakes while "some people" refuse to exit it. Tarun refuses to comment on this and continues with his film's production.
Months later, both films open with a one-week gap. Ankit's film sees decent footfalls on its opening day and receives highly positive reviews. The social media user who exposed him earlier commends his originality this time and lauds the film. Critically too the film is appreciated and ends up on the year's best films lists of many. On the other hand, Tarun's film opens a week later and receives average footfalls, with many wondering why he decided to remake his own debut film which released a few years ago. Tarun stays confident and asks the audiences to spread the word about the film once they are done watching it. With his film playing on standard screens and Ankit's film on both standard and premium formats, many believe Tarun needed to let go of his ego and concentrate on an original film instead.
The viewers and critics are shocked after the first screening of the film itself.
While a remake of those three films Ankit had copied, it also has a lot of original content; the first half amalgamates the original films while the second half is totally based on Tarun's own original story. But that's not what truly shocks the viewers and critics. It's the hidden subtexts and allegories that spark debates across the internet and among the general public. The film is discovered to have targeted someone specifically, but without disclosing the person's identity. Many suspect Ankit to be the target initially, but further research makes them change their minds. Everyone in the media begins discussing the film and many wonder if it intends to make a political or social statement. The film begins to work wonders at the box office and surpasses the collections of Ankit's film, which sees a major decline in the collections. Tarun cashes in on this newfound popularity and holds a press conference where he stuns everyone with the announcement of a sequel to the film and that he would reveal the target's identity only moments before his own death.
A lot of people across the film industry begin to feel threatened. At the same time, Ankit's film completely loses steam at the box office and is withdrawn from cinemas within two weeks. He too begins to wonder if Tarun made the film to target him specifically, and if it was someone else he was willing to target through the remake of a film which launched his career.
