I must have been in a weird mood when I made this one. I think I just wanted an excuse to draw Lula with her eyes popping out of her head. I guess I'm kind of a mean "deity" in that respect haha.
I like playing with the idea that my characters are aware they are characters. Perhaps that's the real over-arching joke - they know that they are myths, made up in the figment of a madman's imaginations, but it doesn't stop them from expressing themselves. I kinda feel the same way (other than being a figment of the imagination of a madman). I cannot fathom God's vastness, or my own small insignificance in this life, yet despite my knowledge that I could have just as easily not have been made by God, I was, and so, unlike Lula, I am allowed to question, to explore, to seek, and I never have to fear the Eraser.
So I leave this question to you: Can Lula and the gang be really be mere myths if they are aware that they are made up and yet still believe in themselves or does their awareness of their plight matter? Let me know in the comments below.
