8th chapter : the orb .

       After getting into Granddam. Marco had countered some thieves and realized that almost all the council and the people don’t like the guild he joined, therefore that didn’t make him lose faith in them and as he returned to the antique shop, he scolded Eyezar for this quest job.

           “Sigh, he didn’t pay us a lot and on top of that he gave you two, some pieces that he didn't need as if it was a token of gratitude” Marco complained as he was annoyed on his way back home. 

           “Don’t say that! Still, I’m surprised by what you did!? Have you ever fought with a sword before?” Alice and Carla asked as they looked at Marco. 

           “nope, I used it for the first time today” he calmly replied while cleaning his glasses. 

           Alice and Carla weren’t surprised thinking that it was the serment’s spells that gave him such good movement. 

           “By the way, what were those chains from before?” Carla asked again as she got closer to Marco. 

           “Those were something I grabbed for my serment” he replied calmly then stopped talking about it as he went ahead. 

         Carla and Alice looked at each other, curious about what he meant. Ultimately, the sudden surge of strength from a new holder against the so-called veteran ones was the thing that bugged the two of them, it looked like Marco had a fog around his whole existence for a second.

          Earlier that day, 

          “Well, I guess this will not be something that I wanna do, still a job is a job!!”. Emilis said as he was crossing the mountains in another country far from home. 

          After getting an anonymous quest job to bring some drop an item from a high ranked dungeon, Emilis headed on his own to conquer the quest. 

          “Since the quest is from an anonymous guy, I guess the council isn’t aware of this. Sighssss!! I never thought that I would do some dark quest jobs just for the money!! man I hate this!!”.

          He continued complaining as he was walking on the top of the mountain, several steps after he reached the gate of the dungeon. 

          “Sigh, here goes nothing!!”. 

          Emilis said as he jumped into the gate hole that takes to the dungeon boss directly. As soon as he went inside, the gate got closed and Emilis landed safely.

          “Sigh, directly in the boss room, that man is skillful when it comes to locating, I gotta pay him next time” Emilis mumbled as he was looking around him to see the boss.

          A 15ft tall humanoid, half naked with a pale blue skin and spikes all around his joints, four arms each one holding a one handed axe along with chains surrounding the chest all the way to the back of his legs. 

          Emilis whistled after seeing that boss standing in front of him. As the whole floor walls started to shine in blue lighting the area and the boss’s roars filled the place, Emilis smiled responding to these screams of rage and in the second that the boss attacked him, Emilis held his arm as if he was playing an octave on the piano creating a barrier and guarding the direct hit. 

          In a blink of an eye, one of the four arms that attacked Emilis got shattered like glass as the boss took some steps to the back and raged in anger but before he attacked again, Emilis leaped right to his shoulder and gently patted it as if he was playing with him. the boss tried to smash him but the whole half of the boss got shattered the same way as what happened to his arm.

          Emilis landed on the ground as the boss fell down. 

          “Now let’s see, the item meant to be his eye”. Emilis said as he was looking at the monster trying to crawl and flee with his life. 

          He laughed. “Pfft!!! you feel fear, that’s unusual!! I mean I’ve never meant to hurt you!!” he said as he was walking toward the other half of the boss that got shattered.

          “Sigh, luckily I got the eye, and the boss will regenerate if I leave him, mission complete!!” Emilis was still talking to himself as he took the item drop from the boss.

         As he was looking for a way to go out, the boss had gotten into his fullest strength, instantly regenerating and getting into volcano-like form with his whole body leaking out lava. 

          “Man, I thought you feared me!!” Emilis said calmly while looking around him. 

          He instantly saw the way out and calmly walked to his way out. The boss was in a state of rage as he attacked him directly therefore none of his attacks reached because of that barrier, and as Emilis reached the door he waved at him and snapped his fingers to see the boss melting away and being absorbed by a giant door behind him. 

          “bye bye!! flammy monster!!” he said while waving to the boss that couldn’t escape the door that looked like a black hole.

          Moments after absorbing all the boss, Emilis looked around. 

          “Hmm, that won’t do, I guess I need to give this place the boss that it needs, after all I do create dungeons myself too” Emilis spoke while rubbing his chin a little bit. 

          After that he snapped his fingers to see a euro scriptures circle being written in the middle of the boss room as another similar monster emerged from that circle and stood in the middle of the room. Emilis smiled then went on his way leaving a boss higher leveled than the last one as well as taking a few item drops from that dungeon on his way.

          “I’m back!!” Emilis said as he entered from the front door of the restaurant. His trip didn’t take a long time either since he was going on his own, on top of that the small game he had with an Aa rank boss was giving him some enthusiasm to return home. 

          “Welcome back, you surprisingly came early” Zack greeted him as he was putting the order for the table. 

          “Welcome back master, any good news?” Marco greeted him too as he was cleaning the dishes, he saw Emilis passing by. 

          “Not that much, but I got some good drops, we might sell it to get a fortune” he replied calmly while having a smirk on his face. 

          Alice looked at Marco who stopped moving as soon as he heard the word fortune, she felt a deep fear for a second. 

          “Master, by fortune how much do you mean?” Marco asked calmly as he stopped working and approached Emilis.
