I was astonished. The mask I had very carefully curated to not let any of my actual feelings show on the outside was cracking. The cracks caused my mouth to drop slightly agape and my brows to faintly furrow. Kel's eyes darted straight to me as she noticed my expression.
"What's with your face? Do you have something you would like to discuss?" she asked with her usual condescending tone.
I continued to just stare back at her, all possible responses right at the tip of my tongue but all equally impossible to say.
Kel brushed her hand through her ponytail and started twirling a strand of her golden brown hair around her finger while inspecting it as if she was trying to find something in it.
"You clearly have a lot going on in that cute little head of yours. Don’t make me repeat myself, Lilith" she pressed, not lifting her eyes off her hair and even less respect in her tone.
I took a deep breath, gathering the mess of words forming in my head and trying to mold them into something coherent to say.
"You do realize doing that would probably count as assault, right? They could get seriously injured. And what if they have an allergy to whatever is poured on them?"
Suddenly I was far too aware of how my legs had started to lose feeling from the position I was sitting in.
"See? This is what happens when you think too much, you get confused. It's just a little prank. And anyways, I was just throwing a suggestion out there although we all know I can make it happen."
Kel took pause to throw her ponytail back over her shoulder before continuing.
"Father doesn't care what I do as long as I'm having fun."
