As I mentioned, I am quick to pick up on things, but then again it wasn’t rocket science to connect the dots in this case.
The giggles when I greeted him, the stench and their anticipating stares all suggested Ansel had possibly been picked as their target.
If that was the case, the only other empty seat in the room being next to him was most likely not a coincidence either.
I already knew my lack of reaction to my “punishments” when I was in the team had been noticed, which is also why I got away with less than most.
I’m assuming when I just took and left the team after her latest suggestion, she could tell how much the thought of harassing an outsider bothered me.
Are they targeting Ansel to get to me? When I thought I might be an upcoming exception when it comes to her messing with outsiders, this is not what I meant. Fuck.
I knew realistically they wouldn’t do anything too serious at first and would probably stick to elementary school level bullying, but the fact that someone completely unrelated was being dragged into my mess made me feel incredibly guilty.
He shouldn’t have to deal with this. This is my problem.
Ms. Garnet announced we would be reading the next 2 chapters quietly while she worked on her emails, and that questions were welcomed but any other disturbances would be reprimanded.
The class got quiet. So quiet in fact, I could hear Ansel's steady breathing as he flipped a page.
