More descendants of the Human God arose. It was the duty of the older to guide the younger.
Life was thriving.
Not only humans.
Fairies, demons, sea dwellers, spirits, all kinds of life.
But there was a breaking point.
The God of Time revealed something to Hell's Gate and he communicated it to his fellows, to his first brethren.
"Your so-called Dragon God will die at some point in the future before eliminating the irregularity".
"What?"
That was not something they could believe.
"Ah, I know what's going on. You're just jealous that our champion will be better than yours".
Heaven was joking, she didn't take it seriously enough and believed it would all be a game of his brother. Her mocking expression confirmed it, but in contrast Hell's face confirmed the importance of the matter.
"Since your Dragon God involves the participation of the two of you, he will surely be stronger than my warrior. I have been devising a type of magic that overrides all others, experimented on every human being who has possessed my magic, until I perfected it".
"Oh, well... I made my humans share their knowledge even without knowing each other. A collective memory, so to speak. They will only share what is related to magic" said Heaven.
"I educated mine, but it's time to leave them on their own" commented Natuur.
There was silence. They exchanged glances, both with the same suspicion.
"Why would the God of Time warn you alone?"
"Who knows. I haven't been able to communicate for a while now".
Right now, they were all gathered in Hell's domain.
A gloomy land, with dark structures and rivers of purple fire.
"...I have a bad feeling".
"What shall we do now? Try to talk to the other god?" Natuur suggested.
"He probably can't either. How confusing. Still, let's carry on as before. It'll be all right!"
Heaven was the only one who could bring some joy to the atmosphere. However, Hell had his own plan.
"My duty was always to eliminate the irregularity. For our father".
"Father?"
"The Human God. If such an irregularity eliminates the world he loved, I will not forgive myself".
"I prefer to call him mother" said Natuur.
"Me too, but I agree with you" commented Heaven.
Hell sighed.
"I'll do what I have to do".
"Remember that we can't intervene".
"Natuur, we were told that we, as gods, cannot. Nothing prevents me from being reincarnated in the earthly world".
"What? Hey, but isn't that extreme? Wouldn't you let this world go free? You created the demons too, their souls will come here when they die. Will you abandon them?"
"You created a place for humans after they die, didn't you? And Natuur for the beasts".
"That's right".
"I have a plan, it will take a couple of hundred years. Until it's ready, I hope your Dragon God will do a good job".
"Natuur" said Heaven. "We should give the dragons the ability to reincarnate. Mainly because of the Dragon God".
"We'll do that with all races, but we'll have to be selective".
"We are not the only gods of this world, let's make use of our younger brothers. Let's start preparing for the future. We will have to make small interventions or else we are going to lose".
Due to the first breaking point, Hell increased his efforts to forge his ultimate warrior. He intensified the effect of his magic on humans.
Every human who possessed what would be called Hell's Gate would be doomed to be hated. That hatred would strengthen them.
To match what the latter did, Heaven increased the magical capacity of his humans. They would be loved and would encourage others to love.
Natuur, due to the intensified presence of his brothers' mana, interfered by endowing the beasts with the attributes needed to evolve. He also prepared the spirits to protect the world.
For hundreds of years, they worked arduously, meeting occasionally to give a report. Hell's reincarnation plan would not yet be carried out, but he explained the process of it.
Humans evolved because of these interferences.
Some were born inheriting the thinking of their gods. The will was transferred.
Through slight interventions, they endowed living beings with knowledge; they created structures where texts could be found, each with information about magic for them to study.
These texts were ambiguous in description; they also spoke of the Human God and his sacrifice.
The rest would depend on how much humans could grow on their own, how much they would learn and improve.
***
Another couple of centuries passed.
Irregularity came along, and began to transform the world by stealth.
But just then, Hell's Gate got what it needed.
"It's ready".
His warrior had been chosen.
Heaven and Natuur joined him.
The three of them joined their dimensions to oversee together what would happen. In this new dimension, so as not to disturb the souls of the fallen, they created barriers that in a way marked a boundary that only they could cross.
"Mine too" said Natuur.
"Yeah, same" added Heaven.
Then, the three of them looked at the human world.
"It is time".
Specifically, to the Magic Continent.
Especially to a civilization.
Specifically... to certain individuals.
