I was drowning in this paperwork but I was glad that I had something to distract me from what had happened the past few days at the ballroom dance.
Never have I laid my hands on a woman before, I wish that I could turn back the clock and undo what I did.
Seeing the traces of my fingers on her neck made me furious.
I have been avoiding her ever since I brought her to have dinner in the dinning hall with me, it was a way for me to show her how sorry I was.
A slight knock sounded on the door and I already knew who it was before I even lift up my head.
Lizzie walked in with a tray of food and placed it on the table “You have to eat.”
She said before I could tell her to take it back, I swallowed back my words and nodded.
Liz had become more of a mother to me than anything else, I grew up right infront of her eyes. Even though I told her many times not work but to relax she insisted on working saying it makes her bones strong.
“She’s lonely down there.”
I closed my laptop and looked at Lizzie, I rubbed my tired eyes and sighed “She’s not on a vacation Liz.”
“At least give her a little bit of freedom, she has been cooped up in that basement for a while now.”
She is right, but knowing her she would try to run away if I ever let her out of my sight.
“You have dozens of cameras and have tight security, you can watch her and make sure that she doesn’t run away.” She said as if she was reading my mind and placed a dish cloth on her shoulder and walked out leaving me with my thoughts.
