Melokuhle
I recieved a new room, away from that little basement that was suffocating me, I was now in a new room that had big windows and let in a lot of light in.
I stood at the window and opened the window, to let some fresh air in.
It was better than nothing, this little freedom that I had meant a lot to me. I sat down on the bed and it was so soft like a pile of clouds.
I closed my eyes allowing sleep to come but this time it didn’t come, even though I was sleeping in the softes bed money could ever buy sleep would not come.
I tossed and turned, until I kicked off the blanket and tiptoed to the kitchen, I stopped on my tracks when I saw Melusi in the kitchen making a hot chocolate, his shirt was slightly opened and I caught a glimpse of his strong chest.
I lifted up my head and looked on anything besides his chest.
“You couldn’t sleep.” It was more of a statement than a question, he asked. I nodded as I walked into the kitchen and sat down.
“Me too.” He poured both us hot chocolate and sat besides me.
The house was so quiet at this time of the night, I could hear the crickets outside and no other sound.
“I’m sorry.” He said after a while “For laying my hands on you.”
I looked at his direction, surprised that he was even apologising, I never thought that he had it in him.
I nodded, I held on my throat as it started to swollen, Melusi looked at me with his face full of concern.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nuts…” I tried to breath but with each second my throat closed “I’m..”
“Fuck, you’re allergic.” He quickly picked me and hurried to the car, with outmost care he placed me gently on the backseat and jumped into the drivers seat.
He was driving so fast that I was sure we were going to get in a car accident. In just a few minutes I heard the tyres screeches as they came to a stop.
He yanked the door open and picked me up and shouted for the doctor as my eyes stared to close.
“Don’t sleep.” Melusi said as he softly tapped my cheek to keep me awake.
“Place her here.” The doctor said. He hurriedly did softly and gently as if he was afraid I would break into a thousand pieces if he rushed himself.
