Alex stood facing down with the large wolf before him. The beast bared its teeth toward him ready to pounce. Its claws as sharp as razor blades, a black smoke rose from the beast's black fur. Its shape hard to identify in the dark room. Alex’s eyes narrowed and his breathing slowed, the world was still and filled with a ghostly silence. The two opponents measured each other, cautious of what the other was capable of.

Alex’s gaze shifted from Assimar for a single second as he read the notification. In that second, in that one moment, he lost focus. Assimar lunged, Alex caught the motion out of the corner of his eye. He rolled, escaping with only a scratch from the claws of the wolf.

Many are laughing at you

Alex sighed deeply. He focused his mind and activated his ability {Insight lvl 2}. The notifications came in rapidly.

(Bite, left shoulder)

Alex saw the next attack, and its location. He leapt to his right, swinging his dagger across Assimar’s right shoulder. However, all Alex managed was a light scratch across it. Alex was shook to his core.

Ryan leapt in to help subdue the wolf. He drew two daggers from his hips plunging them deep into the wolf’s hide. It released a horrid howl, as it shook like a rabid dog, attempting to knock Ryan off. Alex seized this chance to unleash a flurry of blows into the wolf’s side. With each strike the gash grew wider and wider. Blood spilled like a river, coating the floor in a deep crimson. It’s howl devolved to a shriek. Loud and piercing, Alex stumbled and Ryan fell to the floor.

(Whip)

The notification popped up but Alex couldn’t react. The wolf spun, whipping Alex across the room with its tail. Alex crashed into the solid stone wall, forcing the air from his lungs. His dagger made a dull thud as it landed beside him. Slowly he felt the light fade from his eyes, and he fell deep into a dark abyss.

It was different than death, but it wasn’t a dream either. He awoke on the floor of a white room. A little girl with curly crimson colored hair stood before him. A light glow surrounded her, a white robe draped across her body. Alex’s gaze shifted to the floor, his guilt welling inside him. His ability {Character list lvl 2} showed him the girls information.

Tears welled within Alex’s eyes. The pain and guilting crushing him. Leaving him unable to lift his gaze to her. He could not save her before, and the guilt was chained to him. 

Ana spoke.

“I miss you Alex.”

Alex could only stand silently staring at the floor. 

She continued.

“I really need you, I’m so scared”

She needed him last time too. But he was useles, and now he felt like a corpse walking.

Her voice echoed hollowly in his head.

“You’re gonna help me right. Everyone’s waiting”

The room began to crumble as Alex forced his eyes to look at her. But all he found was empty space. The black inky darkness gave way to blinding light. He awoke on the floor staring at the wolf, as it slowly walked toward Ryan who lay sprawled out and unconscious on the floor. 

Every bone in Alex’s body was on fire, there was a wetness he could only assume was blood. He reached for his dagger on the floor in front of him. Snatching it up, he narrowed his eyes on the gash in the wolf’s side.

{Blink lvl 1}

Alex was engulfed in a yellow light, as his body was propelled forward, he drove the dagger into the already open side of the wolf. It struck deep severing muscle from bone, and piercing the beast’s heart. The wolf began to thrash around as the life continued to fade from it.

Alex activated his {Blink lvl 1} to drive his dagger through the other side of the wolf. The yellow light engulfed Alex once more, propelling him forward and through the wolf. The wolf let out one final screech as it split down the middle.

Alex was pleased with the rewards he received, after this quest the store will open and he had 19,550 coins to spend off the start. Not to mention the ability he received.

{Draconic Heritage lvl 1}

An ability of the soul Draco, a constellation in the night sky represented by a dragon. The dragon is unspecified but there are many opinions on it causing the ability {Draconic Heritage} to manifest. The ability allows the user to take on the traits of any dragon for a few seconds.

Alex was ready to rewrite his death in 15 days.
