As I turned the doorknob and stepped outside, a curtain of rain greeted me, instantly drenching my world in a shimmering cascade of water.
The morning sunlight had somehow faded into an opaque sea of clouds and the front door of my house kind of felt like a very tangible connection between two different worlds, existing parallely throughout time.
I closed my eyes to acclimate to the drizzling hum for a moment; unexpectedly, a collage of memories began surfacing in my subconscious.... Vibrant colors erupted in my consciousness at once as the surfacing memories vividly reminded me of the past; about all the times, when I had opened this door to face an extremely unordinary illustration of the locality and also my reaction to those instances.
It was all like the tape of a very realistic dream, getting played in front of my helpless eyes; forcing me to remember about all the times, which I didn't want to.
*PE PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
I opened my eyes in reaction to the sudden loud honking sound of a motor bike, after what felt like an eternity.
"Huh...!" I sighed, staring at the washed out red rear light of the motorbike which was gradually moving out from my bore sight...
After quickly locking the door behind me and opening my umbrella, as I set off towards the station a wave of nostalgia began pulling me down, mirroring the relentless raindrops that danced around me.
The tone of the atmosphere was very grim, with a subtle anti-climatic feel to it, given my inner enthusiasm. For a moment I was reminded of a scene from Shilpi, where Onko, was walking through a dark alley all alone, going through a phase of complete mental breakdown.
It was a really powerful scene, which had been brilliantly crafted and put to effect by Avinash's drawings.
One thing that had been continously bothering me was that email sent by the college... It was nothing too suspicious but still, the 'reason' factor was really unclear about the whole situation.
As I neared the station, I could feel my pulse rate going up for some reason.
My mind had begun unnecessarily drawing a comparison to myself from that night, four months ago, when I was walking out from the station...
When I was near the gate, a familiar female voice called out all of a sudden, "Hey Dhriti, wait up for me!"
I paused by the gate and turned around to see Alo stepping out of an auto, adjusting her umbrella.
As Dhriti approaches the conclusion of his four-year college journey, with a mere two months left until graduation, an unexpected opportunity emerges. Having dedicated the past four years to the pursuit of his dream of writing a book, Dhriti must now balance seizing this newfound chance with savoring the remaining days of his college experience. Will these final moments not only fill the gaps in his educational journey but also leave an indelible mark on his heart?
Everything comes to an end one day, but the memories remain...
Join Dhriti in this race against time as he endeavors to capture the essence of his college years and weave it into an unforgettable story.
This is a tale of re-collection filled with memories and emotions!
[Will try to release at least 1 chapter every week]
