My love, The Gypsy

Chapter 1: Headmasters

Chapter 1: Headmasters

Oct 08, 2023

Abigail tripped hard. While trying to regain her balance, she sprained her ankle and pulled out a Walther PPK, a type of gun that could be enforced with poison and a rare metal that could harness the sun's heat. Whit this combination, it could penetrate any vampire's skin. She loaded it while the first vampire headed straight for her neck. Bang went the gun; she finished falling to the ground, and her gun went off three more times, hitting its targets. "disgusting  Rogues. " She growled

While saying this, the last one tackled her. Its long claws scratched her neck, making her bleed. Its firm grip squeezed hard, making her vision blurry. The creature is suddenly set on fire; it releases her throat and runs off screaming. She turns over and starts coughing. Her head is foggy, and her eyes have tears.
"Damnable vampires." She growls.
"And yet it was a vampire who saved you from them." A cocky voice replied.

She looks up, and her eyes meet a set of deep turquoise eyes looking down at her. She stands up slowly, keeping her eyes on the owner of such eyes. The voice and eyes belonged to a tall man. He had fiery red hair that made him seem unreal.

He stood at 6'5", making him seem threatening. "Are you going to keep gawking or say something?" He smirked at her.
Abigail glared back; "who knows what the hell I'll do, bat boy."
His smirk only grew; he walked closer to her and leaned down. He took a deep breath in.
"Your blood smells unbelievably sweet…" He murmurs, exhaling.
Abigail took a step back and pointed her gun at him.

"What do you want, Batboy?" She asked calmly.
"Whoa there, little human. I mean no harm, I just saved you, remember?" he said, chuckling.
"Tch! Consider yourself lucky." She snapped and put her gun away.
"So trusting, what if I saved you just to eat you?" He grinned.
"Enough with the lies. You're wearing this school uniform, which means you swore an oath not to bite humans unless you have signed a form with that said human. Plus, you don't look like one of those rogues."  Abigail sighed.

He smirked and backed away. In the blink of an eye, he was gone. Abigail sighed and stood up, knowing the night students had smelled her blood. The scent is probably driving them wild. She looked around and headed randomly, aiming to stumble across the school.

The sun had set, and she walked in the dark for two more miles before she came upon the stairs leading up to the academy. It looked like another mile walking upstairs to arrive at the gates.

By the time she made it, her thighs and calves burned. She slowly finds her way to the administration building. Only to discover it was locked. "Jeeze, you think this would still be open because of the night students." Abigail mumbled.

"Yes, one would think so." A voice breathed down her neck.
"Jesus!" She jumped accidentally, hitting the owner of the voice.
"Oh, my, that was a good hit." The voice mumbles, to themselves.
"I'm so sorry. Are you alright?"She asked.
She looked at the man; he was in his late twenties, he had medium short brown hair and a very gentle look, and his amber eyes seemed to twinkle in a way. He rubbed his cheek, that she had  hit.
"Yes, I'll be fine." He smiled
"Oh, good. I really didn't mean to hit you." She sighed, full of relief.
"If you don't mind me asking, are you the new student for the day class?" While he had a smile, his eyes did not seem to carry that soft, gentle look.

"Yes, I am the new student." Abigail said calmly.
"I see. Well, I suggest you meet the headmistress then." He replied.
"May I ask who you are?" Abigail asked, her guard was up.
"Yes, of course. I'm Roman Roble. The headmaster for the night class." he retorted with a gentle voice.  Abigail soon realizes his calm face made him look dangerous. But he didn't look like a vampire to her. Abigail, tired and weary, asked the headmaster Roman if he could guide her to the headmaster's office.

Roman led her to the Headmistress's office; the silence on the way there was heavy. Neither one of them tried to break the silence. Once they arrived, Roman knocked three times before entering.
He opened the door and motioned for her to enter first. When she entered, she noticed the office had a fireplace and a heavy scent of cedar.

In the far back but center of the door was an oak desk. Behind the desk sat a long black-haired woman. She had green eyes, though an eye patch covered one eye.
“So you're the little hunter going around and causing trouble at a school of peace.” The lady growled. Roman nudges Abigail closer to the desk.
“Speak up, brat. I haven’t got all day!” The headmistress snapped.

"Yes, I am her.  But I had all the rights, too." Abigail replies.
"HAH! And that's supposed to concive me to let you into this sacred school.  You might be trouble or weakness in this place." the headmistress growls.
Abigail, too weary to argue with her or prove her point, pulled off her holster and gun and set it down on the Headmisstress's desk.
"Is that proof enough?  I don't care what you think of me,  but if you're OK with rogues running in you're Territory; But I'm not. I won't mind putting a vampire or human down to protect those I care for or those who need my protection." Abigail looked at her coldly.

"I'll be keeping my eye on you.  But Welcome to the school." The headmistress smirks.
"Yeah, sure.  Can I go now? I'm tired as hell and don't want to be in a room with three of you...  Oh,  my bad.  The Two of you. " Abigail grinned.  Her eyes tired,  but her words hit a soft spot.
"Yes, you may. " The headmistress said in a much calmer tone. She was shocked at Abigail's words.

Abigail was given a map and a key, and Roman guided her to the girl's dorm and looked for her room. Once he left, tears dripped from her eyes, silent tears. She was thinking of her friend and their apple farm. She stuck her hand in her pocket and squeezed on a ring that was in there.

Roman returned to Rosen's office, opened the door, and found Anthony Willow Wrynn. The prince among the purebloods themselves, sitting there and awaiting his arrival.
“I find it very interesting that you two are sitting in my office.” Roman mused.
“ Don’t be like that. She is a very interesting mortal. And it’s only right that I tell the royals. Especially when she's carrying that type of gun." Rosen pouted.

“I let you both have your way. Now hop along.” Roman sighed.
“I heard a strange rumor that she isn’t known among the other hunters.” Anthony said softly, deep in thought.
“ I’m sure there’s a good reason, but I don’t like how those rogues got so close to the school Wrynn and Rosen.” Roman retorted.
"She isn't under your care. She's under mine. So you keep your nose out of the day school." Roman told them coolly.

“It won’t happen again, Roble and my lord Wrynn” Rosen quickly hissed.
“Rosen… Don’t make me regret choosing you for this position.” Anthony said sternly.
Rosen bowed, “ I promise you won't, my lord.” Rosen soon left. She was taking her warning seriously. Roman sat behind the oak desk and was quickly left alone after Anthony left.
"Where did you collect such a powerful weapon, Miss Foxwood." Roman said to himself.

I know this chapter is long, but I hope it wasn't boring or too much blah, blah. I worked hard on trying not to surrender to writing lazily. See you soon .

Blood… blood is the life force of any living being. Even wars and the earth thrive on it. It tastes bitter to all of those called humans. But to something called a monster, well, then it might vary.

But those blinded by false pretense of myths being fake know nothing of a long and bloody war between humans and monsters—Hunter vs. predator, strong against weak, vampire vs. cattle. That is the old name of the game.

One day, the great purebloods and the wise old hunters decided to make a truce between them. One such step is a school that carries both—a school of day and night students—the day, never knowing the truth of the night.

Abigail is only a select few who know such things, but only because fate decided to start her story of thrill and myths early—leading and guiding her to the last purebloods to exist.

Will she learn to help and put her annoyance of purebloods behind her, or fail to understand the truth of being a gypsy is loving a monster?
