This was my least favorite page when I did the first draft because I couldn't find a way to draw the woman getting shot in the chest without just seeming like some 11 year old's attempt at drawing NSFW. Nothing about this is supposed to be sexy. I hate that Tapas groups that in with "nudity." It starts with a kid getting his head ripped off. I love that opening though. Raw.
The trachea actually rips underneath the text bubble, but that seemed a little too much, and this page is already pushing it as-is.
A group of estranged cats and their haunted caretaker are going to save the world.
They're all still figuring out "why."
Simultaneously living and dead, the reality-straining cats (and human) of Squad 9 fight back as the world's trump card against an alien force backed by monsters sculpted from fear itself.
As they witness repeated horrors, jump through alternate realities, and stare death in its beady slit eyes multiple times, the cats slowly ponder what exactly their stake in all of this is, irrationally pushed on by a nasty specter playing his cards a little too close to his chest. Alyssum, their human caretaker, also reflects on her own upbringing, trying to figure out if her world ever stood a chance to begin with.
Stay tuned for this four-part story of cats, humans, melodrama, action, and violent horror surrounding them.
