The days since the disappearance of the the royal siblings, humans have divided against each other: over destroying the remaining aliens and trying to apologize with them..
The president has addressed this division of America in particular...
"People of the united states....." Stoker starts "We are pleading for you all to be conscientious of our alien visitors; murder already existed since the start of mankind, and now we bring even more death upon us by attacking another race of people. While I'm NOT saying to never protect yourselves, do NOT instigate fighting by EATING these people!". He then gives an disturbing smirk "These crimes are why it's now an nation wide mandate to turn in the Space Aliens to your local authorities, and receive instruction from there! They will go through due process of law, just like everybody else, and be punished like everybody else also.. Just because they happen to be something we're used to seeing as foodstuffs, it doesn't mean we should treat them as such.". Cheers rise all around the president as he finished, yet.. of course not everybody even agreed to this; with most people wanting the freedom to kill the mushrooms, and others who ignore this completely as they see the aliens as less than even an lifeform.... Many disagreed with this message from wherever they were....
Lucy herself sighs as she stares at her TV "Seriously?" she asks in annoyance, then sighs... "I wonder where Nosfir is now? He's probably in some kinda Italian sauce by now..." she wonders in a somewhat pessimistic tone... one she always gets upon watching any government media....
Back at NASA, Jon spoke to the military: the Secretary of Defense is present too, along with a few Navy soldiers. Jon, Cecil, Charles and Randolph have all been sent back to work as normal, but only after a single day; they've been contacted by government operatives to direct an assault should the aliens return!!! While the transport back home was to avoid suspicion by the public; the soldiers were told to receive instruction directly from Jon as the human-volunteers seemed to've disappeared along with the SWAT team who helped guard the aliens...
"...they are otherwise exactly as fungus from right here!" Jon finished explaining their biology in a NASA cafeteria as far as he could tell... "So let me get this straight.." the Secretary of Defense started "Aside from what we found online; the Mushrooms have no real insides, there's no brain in those huge caps, and they're mostly decoration, correct? Myceleum is something that accumulates if a group of this things reside in one area too long.. The things can regrow appendages, and in fact grow extra if necessary; and can impregnate anybody with their spores; which seems to be the only real function of their caps, which again; isn't as important as the area directly under it, where their fugly mugs lie?". "Yes sir!" Jon replied in some rage "They lack a ....traditional brain from what I can piece together, which is why `Zombie mushrooms` exist, but they actually can survive losing those caps, and having their torsos mangled, but they'd need time to regenerate either.. Otherwise, they will die as an normal person! You might've already guessed, but fire would always ensure their heads' are completely destroyed!". "Way ahead of you, Mr Seward!" the secretary replied as many soldiers lift their flamethrowers! "We remade these to be more precise, to ensure we cause little damage to anything except those monsters!" he explains "After you left, it worked just fine on the fungus where the shelter stood!". "You already burned it down!?" Jon asks, "Yes, we are instructed to destroy the building; as we are aware that even normal fungus has underground networks; no telling what evil they were doing when they were lurking in that hole!". He turned away as he adds "You will be called upon later once we have the AAA guns in place!". The soldiers all left the building, marching out in an quickly to start training on NASA's grounds..
"Man.." Cecil laughed nervously "I didn't think you'd be leading the army!". "I'm not really..." Jon replied as he turns towards his friend "I'm merely sharing what I know..". "So, we're really going to help them set up a trap for when they come back? They could want to just be returning to get the rest of these off our planet.." Charles suggested, "No, don't give them the benefit of the doubt!" Jon retorted "I did, and was used as a mere breeder, then my life wos threatened! Those mushrooms don't care if we live or die; they just want us as breeding farms for their young!!". "True, they put too much emphasis on `Unite`..." Randolph agreed.. "They did, `Uniting` simply means to manipulate us through lies. No telling wot their actual plans are, why did we ever think that what we translated was their true intentions? This whole thing was unnatural! We should've seen it coming: this was a invasion, one of our minds, then our bodies!" Jon says in anger... then turns to leave "I'm going to see if there's anymore I can show them... Wish me luck!" he alerts them and marched off....
The next morning; Jon was summoned bright and early to an launchpad; it now is covered in Anti-aircraft guns, and has killers stationed everywhere.. with a sergeant standing in wait, with a something many feet away from him... "There you are, Seward!" he said aggressively with an small smile! "Yes, yes.. I, I haven't quite gotten up THIS early in years!" Jon sleepily replied, staggering to him in his uniform at least.. though forgetting to remove his knightcap... "We wanted your opinion on this, we can adjust it on the fly if needed too!" he explained proudly.. Jon looks up at what the sergeant was staring at: "Th,those are Anti-Aircraft guns, right?" Jon asks, "No, they're AAA guns: Anti-Alien, Aircraft guns! We took your description of their ships: `Made of water molecules and using lightning/friction to power them` there's only one thing that could destroy them right away!". Jon awed as the gun gave off EXTREME heat waves, everybody on the ground immediately sweats from the intense flames created! The soldier firing the gun/in its cockpit has to wear heatproof armor just to survive! "This is fine and good, but it IS a cloud basically; I have to include that while our atmosphere doesn't have anything to do with their cloud ships, they DO have the potential to become real storms under the right conditions... the blotting out the sun and heat might create a storm...". "We'll adjust it to evaporate it all at once then! They won't get a chance to do anything!" the sergeant assures! Jon sleepily nods his head in agreement and prepares to stagger away....
Realistically, can you "kill "clouds with INTENSE heat? Water gets evaporated into clouds, so will heat just make moisture keep going up, or would it be possibke to actually dehydrate the atmosphere?
I couldn't think of a real way to attavk the mushrooms aa theirvsjips already defy our logic, so extreme heat has to be the only that could work...
