For the first time, scientists have detected a radio signal from outer space that repeats at regular intervals.

The series of "fast radio bursts" – short-lived pulses of radio waves that come from across the universe – were detected about once an hour for four days and then stopped, only to start up again 12 days later.

This continued for every 12 days afterwards, on cue; so much so that scientists have found a way to translate and learn what they mean.... According to NASA: the signal is an way `someone's` asking for permission to enter the Milky way. Apparently, we're the only intelligent life in this galaxy and therefore are seen as the dominant race.

And so with the agreement of the president; astronauts and those of Area51, a `Welcome to Earth` signal was sent.. The Radio frequency was made to mirror theirs: the pitch and length of emission was studied in great detail, and so scientists were able to (at very least) figure out how to send a informational signal into the starry abyss of outer space!

Now, one sunny day: in Huston Texas; an normal civilian stares into the clear sky... "They really done it..." he says to his partner, she stops walking up the sidewalk and looks over her shoulder "Are you still goin' on about that?!" she asks with a southern drawl too... He turns back towards her "I can't help it, Mina..." the cowboy replies in aggravation "It's crazy that they invited monsters here! I mean c'mon, it's a stupid as lettin' a pack o' angry dogs into your house!". " Now Quince, you know better than to buy into that! The government's always doin' something crazy, and doesn't ever affect us none too much... (except taxes..) a buncha angry lil' green men ain't going to suddenly fall from the sky!" she replies sternly, yet trying not to laugh at him.... "B, but... Lots of strange crap's happened before, what if we're sitting here twiddlin' our thumbs, just waintin' to be some monsters' livestock?!" the cowboy asked as he turns away from her... Mina huffed in annoyance; this was no longer funny to her; "There ain't no friggin' space aliens, they jus' as crazy as you are! Now let's git back home! We have ice cream sandwiches on board!" she reminds him as she holds up a grocery bag, he turned around as she yelled and sees this! "Alright, fine.. fine.." the man replies, and follows her back to their truck....

Miles away, at NASA; a scientist goes over his schedule on his laptop... a smirk stretches across his face, until a co-worker walks up behind him "Jon? I...I think that's the first time I saw you with a genuine smile?" he jokes, the balding scientist turns towards him "Really? Ha! I can't help it; after decades, DECADES of work and research.. we may actually see life from space! Kids only dream of seeing aliens, but realistically... well, what we thought to be realistic: was that there was nothing we could really contact out there, but now..." Jon trails off in the middle of his excited reply.. "You know that there's Area 51, right?" he reminds him and laughs, Jon retorts; "Exactly how many aliens have you seen, Charles? Yes, conspiracy theories COULD be true and we're using reverse-engineered devices, or: the advancements in technology could really just be from human intelligence? Someone could've spotted a alien or UFO, or those sightings could also just be hallucinations from some hysterical maniac or, or a drunk! But now we'll finally see something clear, unobscured and real!!!!". "I see even ribbing won't hamper your mood ol' man?" the co-worker asked with a laugh, then walks away "Your ruining my own fun aside: Dr Procter won't be able to attend the emission translation ceremony, so you've been given that duty along with having to join the ambassadors." Charles revealed. "R,really!?" Jon asks "I, I don't believe it! I can read out the final message before we receive them! I, I wonder if we should be more prepared? I can't imagine they'd be happy breathing our air all of a sudden, and, and what about our uniforms?!". His coworker simply leaves, smirking because of how exited Jon is, and from his own nervousness; he wasn't nearly as positive as his BFF about this event.. but of course was hoping the aliens were nice and don't see them as mere food as soon as they land....

By next Wednesday; news of aliens arrival had spread like wild fire!!! Though of course many ignored it: there's still a large crowd gather at NASA and hovering around Area51.... The people of Huston were allowed closer to the facilities for the event; nobody really questioned why the officials let them in on this event.. Instead of paying any attention to the strange decisions made: they listened to Jon after he played something that sounded like radio being tuned through out a room specifically prepared for this event...

"See? And this is playing from the other parts of the facility too." he explains to the crowd, "Me and Dr Cecil are now going to greet them, but we have to ask that you all watch the meeting from here!". Some of the crowd boos and jeers; since they wanted to see also but: the security readying to fire at any moment keeps them from following him out of the room...

Outside, he stands next to the other ambassadors; then they start towards the place where they assume the aliens were to land... "Are you not excited too, Cecil? We're doing what no man has  done before!"  Jon exclaims quietly, "I am, I am.. si..." the Hispanic-man replied "But I'm nervous too, man... How are you not?". "I could never of delved into this line of work if I was afraid of the future!" Jon reveals "No matter what, we're accomplishing something no one else has done!". " If only I had a half-of-a-quarter of your balls..." Cecil jokes, "There has to be a better way to put that; either you're a cannibal or you're coming onto him?" Charles laughs as he walks next to them.. "What? I thought you were on translating duty only?" Jon asked in surprise as he looks over his shoulder.. "Another man quit; it's just me, you, Cecil and Randolf..." he explained.. "I wonder if I should have left too!" the Cecil himself jokes too! "Please, don't even jest: What would this look like of we didn't even greet them properly?" Jon asked in an irritated voice.. "They think this event is a hoax already.. Maybe we SHOULD just go in case the aliens DON'T come and we become a laughing stock?" Charles suggests with a laugh...."Stop that! I'm startin' to think they might've missed something in translation and this whole thing's a trap!" Cecil replies with a nervous laugh! "We're here yall..." Randalf suddenly explains... The men all stop at a huge airstrip, it's been cleared completely as per the instructions that they assumed they heard in the radio waves...

Many feet away, The Cowboy watches from behind equipment: he has his pistol ready in fear.... "I'm not gonna let this go on, if those things are comin' without ALL our consent, then I'm gonna be ready for 'em!", he thinks back on sneaking in, while leaned against an receptacle " Those guards are too jittery to even realize they shoulda been watchin' for outsiders sneakin' in the place, instead of one of 'em plebs in the crowds! That proves there's something goin' on around here that ain't right!!!". He aims at the area, watching the scientist/ambassadors then the sky above... until the sky suddenly turns cloudy...

Some in the crowd of civilians pull out umbrellas, while others run.. the ambassadors seem unfazed though, even expecting this... it looks as if it'll rain any moment, and the thundering noise constantly coming from the skies makes it seem like a huge storm would happen any second....

The ambassadors then all notice a pillar of light shine down from the center of the huge cloud, and onto a launchpad!! The light's then covered in sparkling  `snow` that quickly descends and forms several bodies!!! "L, like on TV..." Jon whispers in fear!! The crowds all also are deathly afraid of this sudden appearance of what was thought to be only a sci-fi feat... The Cowboy himself aims as the aliens finally form!

An single pink-humanoid female, and several humanoid male shaped mushrooms are formed! "Hello? I,is this the correct language for this part of Earth?" she asks nervously... Most of the men step back, though Jon did everything in his power to stay in place and show trust to the aliens: "Y,yes it is!" he replies, Charles adds fearfully "Yes, th,that's English! Valid in nearly ev,every part of the world!". She looks back at one of the Alien men "You see Xanthodermus, this will be easy!!", she exclaims, "Sister, it doesn't matter in the long run; we have no idea if we can really trust them or not, this was decided on way too fast..." the yellow-man retorts in an angered tone..

During this talk; the scientists looked at their clothing: she wore a very long red robe, and the men all wore many golden straps... What did mushrooms have to hide? Even though they're humanoid, it's clear they lack anything to hide from simply seeing what IS exposed; noses, ears and hand-digits aren't as detailed, complicated nor even existent as humans' are....

The Cowboy though has his gun aiming at them, ready to shoot and hopefully scare the aliens away!
