CONTINUED....

The humans all look up from the NASA base in fear, though the soldiers merely get in position!!! "Prepare to fire!" the sergeant shouted in rage! All AAA guns are aimed at the cloud... but simple rain falls... "Ah..." he sighed some, then laughed.. the soldiers laughed too, as well as Jon... "Let's get a move on, on upgrading these damn things!" the sergeant ordered in relief! And they take down their weapons while Jon leaves in some relief... Even IF they upgraded the weapons, this will be in only in the US; the aliens were all over the entire world at one point.. how will they fight like they needed??? Jon sighs in worry as he hobbled back to his Huston home...

An few hours later, the soldiers have tweaked their weapons along with several scientists and technicians' help... Jon is studying along with his friends, and other civilians are going about their daily lives... until another storm comes up.....over the entirety of the state...then the country.. this stretches over to the other half of the world... Blotting out the sun, and (if it were night it would've blotted out) the far off stars and moon.. The sky and land are both absolutely black... Those who realized what was happening quickly grabbed their lights and either looked for shelter (if they weren't already hiding) or went out to find what was going on....

Jon was one of the many who looked outside to see what was going on, though he had an idea... yet, this was unlike the other visits from the aliens; at no point did their ships blot out the sky completely.... He looks up at the blackened skies which are thundering and lighting with white hot lightning.... This never happened either, it seemed like the same energy used for descent is being redirected for the very thing many humans were afraid of, since (and even before) the aliens arrived: an Invasion!

Jon grabbed his smartphone and speed-dial his friends "They're coming... I.." he started, "I thought `Xantho` said they were just going to leave!?" Randolph asked in fear and anger... "Evi, evidently.. that's not what's happening, is it?" the bald scientist retorted. "I'm going to my panic room, you hermano do the same!" Cecil yelled and hung up! "He has a point ol' man... there's no reason to wait for them! I doubt the siblings would listen to you now!" Charles warned.. "I know that! I'm just appalled that after greeting them so warmly that they'd do this to EVERYBODY on the face of the entire earth!" Jon angrily retorted, "I hate it, but I guess we have no choice but to hide with the very people who laughed at us for contacting them!". "Yes, but I think they may not murder us quite as fast as the aliens would!" Charles joked wryly and hung up... "Who could hide at a time like this!?" the bald scientist thought out loud, then used his phone light to find his car, gets in and turned on his head lights to drive back to the NASA base!

But during his drive; streaks of lightning actually launched down from the clouds, from out of red light as oppose to the golden/platinum light that the royal siblings came from, it hit streets, roofs and cars, leaving mycelium, and what seems to be earthly, yet GIGANTIC mushrooms.... They were in places where humans aren't lying in wait to attack strangely...

Meanwhile, Jon finds a group of soldiers stationed at a street corner with guns aimed at the dark sky... "Give me something to do!" Jon ordered, "I dare not stand by while such a two-faced menace attack us!". "Really? We do need more people with a pair!" that squad-leader said with a laugh and gestured for one of his men to give Jon his rifle... "That's specially made for those things, it's hard to regrow when you're pumped full of gasoline!" the general explained.. "Thank you, I'll do my country proud!" Jon stated proudly, then reads the man's badge "General Harker!". He then gets in position, while they shoot the AAAs into the sky; ready to protect them from the ground in case a mushroom runs up! He then noticed MANY white dots above them!!!

On the underside of the ship, and on high-rise buildings; are Aliens that look like Lion's mane Mushrooms! They're all glaring in anger underneath their long teeth-like hair, and aimed at the buildings below as well as any civilians and human soldiers who stand against them.... Their teeth-fur starts to stick up like missiles ....then launch off!!!!

Meanwhile, Quince gets in his truck with Mina! "Shit!! Why didn't anybody say a damn thing!?" he yelled in fear "Shouldn't th' government know this was gonna happen!?". "Yeah, but when's th' last time they actually helped!?" his wife replies in fear and anger! Quince nervously smirked and sped off!!! Until he saw the Lion's head Mushrooms above, watching them in hatred... "Oh... we're going back downtown!" he yelled, "What!? The closest shelter's right here!" she yells back! "The closest aliens' here too!" he said as he pointed at the buildings and turns away.... He turns around and head towards freeway, but sees a line of people going across the road, and into an building surrounded by SWAT!! "Someone was thinkin' ahead!" Quince yells and gets out, Mina gets out too as he looks at his smartphone "Come on, pick up!" he thought out loud.... then sighed and gets back in the truck.. Mina immediately noticed her husband wasn't by her side "Quince!?" she called out in confusion! "I gotta go!! There's somethin' important I need to check up on, I'll be back!" he yelled! "WHAT!?" Mina yells back, but is grabbed by the arm "Ma'am, come on! We don't have time to help crazy people!" an SWAT soldier says, trying to get the freaked out teacher inside to safety! She begrudgingly goes with him after Quince drives away!!! "Dammit, Cordell won't answer his phone! Nobody would while this shit's happenin' but... but I'm not even gettin' an signal at all!" he thought out loud as he speeds to his friend's ranch: fortunately he doesn't see much activity.. but hears terrifying shouts and screams! 

He finally gets to the place though, he sees Mycelium everywhere!!! Quince almost jumped out of his truck, but realized this is alien, so he drives through the fence and over the fungus; planning on quickly only getting out if he sees Cordell... then noticed; his best friends' parents are wrapped in it... The dad has an pistol in his hand, and his wife is stuck in an position as if she was reaching to him... they're growing mushrooms from every part of their bodies too... "Wh,what?!" Quince lets out in a fearful gasp.. then drives slowly, attempting not to run over anybody encased in mycelium... Then ironically almost runs over Cordell's fungus covered son! "They got the kids too??" Quince wonders, then drives slowly until he sees another lightning strike! Then noticed the silhouette of his BFF, he was caught while looking towards the sky.. completely wrapped in mycelium!! 

Meanwhile, in Washing DC; soldiers gather all around the Whitehouse: they all had AAA guns and are ready to (solely) protect the nation's capital, should it be the invaders' target! Luckily for the humans, they already moved president Stoker from the area.. though, they dare not try to fly him anywgere in the pitch-black darkness....  "What do we actually do if they just land on top of the building?" one soldier asked... "Fucking fire!" another rerplied. ,"But we'll destroy i..." he started to say, when many fangs launched into the ground by them!!! The soldiers immediately shoot into the sky, while Lion's head mushrooms glide down as they fire their long fang like growths at the ground!!! "They can't shoot worth a sh..." one soldier started... "What!?" another yelled back, but when his comrade abruptly stopped speaking: he turned around to see his comrade frozen in place, and fungus growing from inside his armor! Mycelium had stretched QUICKLY across the ground and through any opening in his clothes armour! Most were already covered in the span of an few moments, except that one who only watched in fear!!! "I'M OUTTA HERE!" he shouted, and ran away!!!

The Mushrooms landed as he heads off far away from them, and into the next nearest neighborhood! Mushrooms were already growing out of the ground and attacking further down, so he went into the closest house by him! Inside... Mycelium is already everywhere... it covered the floor, walls, items and the owner of the house; Lucy! He backs up in horror and turns to see an Aminita Mushroom standing there, it only watched him until he started shooting!!! Then it shook it's cap, engulfing him in poison spores; which burned through his armour and caused the man to fall to his knees... Also (maybe fortunately) being far to high off the spores to understand what was going on anymore...

Everywhere else.. More Aminita mushrooms are stationed on buildings, constantly dropping spores onto anybody who was still outside or who tried to attack the ships, (like the soldiers in Huston had!) The human soldiers shot streams of flames into the sky, burning mushrooms who tried gliding down to them and/or shooting their fangs into the ground! "Don't let any of them land!!" General Harker shouted! Jon meanwhile burned any mushroom who tried to sneak upon them; he moved faster than he had in an very long time, but he was able to keep up with aliens from high and below.. many different colored Aminita try to attack, but unable to get to that street corner; even the condominium they are stationed by was safe as Jon shot up at the aliens who somehow landed above on top of it! "Good job, Seward!" General Harker compliments as he shot "Never figured a nerd would be so damn good at shooting!". "Everything's all principals and science; once you get used to it, it's like shooting fish in a barrel!" Jon replied, "What???" the General wonders.. but the bald scientist DID learn easily regardless of this being far out of his area of expertise! He suddenly turned to shoot a mushroom sneaking by; like all others; he received a needle like bullet into his torso or cap, then the extreme heat that followed caused the Brown Mushroom/civilian to combust, before he could escape the violence!!! "Hey, I think we'll be runnin' outta fuel inna minute!" Harker yells, "Get with the guys on the canon until the others come back; we can't let them touch that!". " Yes sir!" Jon replied as he jumped on it! He and the soldiers all aim from every side, as the others go back to their quickly made base not too far off from that spot!!!

"You ready!" Jon aaked, an soldier replied as he laughed "I still can't believe we randomly gotta old man holdin' down tha fort!". "It's because you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!" the scientist retorts, then helps shoot off the incoming Aminita and Lion's Head Mushrooms, though... unlike with the AAA canon, they sometimes miss and others have to make up for their comrade by doing actual kill shots when the mushrooms hit the ground! Until... one of them heard an clicking sound!

"Shit, my gun's out!" A soldier frantically shouted! "Stay in the middle until..." another starred to reply.. when he noticed his gun was out of ammo too!! "You have to be careful with your aiming, I still have more because I aimed for their heads only!" Jon warned, but still he shot so many... only a few moments after this, his weapon ran out of fuel too! "Anyone knows jujitsu or any fighting technique at all?" Jon asked in some fear.. "...Kinda? But nothing beats a good ol' free-for-all!" A soldier replied, ready to tear into the soft things! They then charged into the soldiers, Jon follows but one runs up on him! He punched directly into it's head killing him immediately!! "Ha!! We probably don't need weapons!" he exclaimed loudly then laughed.. until he realized... it was an poisonous mushroom-alien...  he turned to see the others standing in terror as they had punched them too, and caused spores to fly everywhere! A soldier returned with a damaged fuel tank, as Jon turns away from the dying ones beside him.. "The, they... got past the auto-turret..." the soldier started, then noticed the other ones either hallucinating or straight up dead from cool spores... They both then also see that with the lack of heat from the constant fire, it was chill enough for the Mycelium to regrow and take everybody on that spot!! Jon shouted in anger "Dammit!! You might've gotten us, but hu, humanity will not fall!" as he's frozen by the alien Mycelium... curiously; the soldiers all grew mushrooms on their bodies of random species and size... while Jon didn't.. like few others...

It seemed as if Jon was correct about this, because as soon as he said this; the army finally made a break through in the clouds/ship!!! It looked as if the sky was on fire as airships came across Huston and mushrooms were blasted back from the sea!! Mycelium `islands` were burned up too, and sunlight started to show!!! 

Then it faded once more, with only the red Mushroom-light lighting up anything in the sky... Devil's Tooth Mushrooms stand at the doorways of the ships, and all activate their own part of the mothership; many aliens which looked like poisonous mushrooms started to spread spores like rain!! It covered everything in moments, and started growing in the dark, and becoming parasitic in the heat and light! Nothing on the face of the planet was left safe....
