After all of that Arthur put on that necklace said to protect from evil magic, put on a light blue and silver knight armour and head out of the castle accompanied by four of his Royal Knights, twenty of the Silverwood Knights and thirty soldiers. Norman and Robert were both left behind in the end. He decided to just walk there as opposed to riding a horse, mostly since he left his back at home. He was pretty scared walking around the city, given what happened once he arrived there. However since there was a large garrison surrounding him, and given that he was wearing Silverwood armour, barely anybody even looked at him.
Once he was out of the city it was time to head towards the monster lair. One of the Knights started talking to him as they marched towards a rather hilly environment. It was north east of the city and not too far off to the sea. While marching along one of the Silverwood Knights started talking to Arthur.
'Prince Arthur, you probably had to deal with General Vilbur, correct?'
'Erm... yes' said Arthur, a long pause followed `What do you mean “deal with him”? He seemed fine to me'
'He's the cause of this being a huge ordeal, he kept sending out garrisons one by one, and they kept on getting slaughtered by the monsters.' Arthur looked a bit surprised, but kept on marching anyway
'Well, I don't know what to say, really.'
'Not only that, he would let his lackeys command the armies while he'll just stay at his office, and they kept dying too, but you've came out here with us, so I respect you for that'
'Thanks, though sometimes I think I'm insane' The knight then just laughed .
`Yeah! But you're amazing for that! Count Silverwood or even the king himself wouldn't even dream of doing what you're doing!' Arthur laughed as well. As they got closer and closer they started to notice something-
'It's the monsters! Be on your guard!' shouted one of the Knights. The “monsters” were skeletons wielding swords and shields. Arthur stopped and had a look at the skeletons and just shouted `Charge!' And so they did, they were twice in numbers to the skeletons and they smashed them to pieces. After four minutes those skeletons were all destroyed, and Arthur had a closer look at their bodies.
'These skeletons all have some sort of green goo all over them... how revolting'
'So the lair shouldn't be too far away now?' asked one of the knights, to which Arthur looked around and noticed a cave not that far away.
'There it is, lets go!' It seemed like a small cave from a distance, but as they got closer it just got bigger and bigger. Not only that there were a lot of creatures guarding it. Once Arthur noticed that he order his troops to stop moving. Arthur took a look at all of the creatures and started to get really nervous he even noticed that there were skeleton soldiers wielding bows, and once he noticed them he hid behind the knights.
'What should we do about them, Prince Arthur?' One of the knights asked.
'Wait here' He went to the back of the garrison and started practising a spell, which was a force-field type spell. He tried casting it, but couldn't quite manage to do it. He then instead decided to run forward and throw a great big fireball in the direction of the lair. Upon landing it exploded and the some of the creatures flew up in the air, while others just burned. All of the knights started applauding, but he just ordered them forward, and they were all moving closer towards the lair. At this point most of the monsters were destroyed, but there were a few that remained. They didn't pose a threat to Arthur or the knights following him, and were cut down in mere seconds.
'Arthur, don't you think we'll be needing some torches?' asked one of the knights once they got to the monster lair.
'Yes...' answered Arthur, though he sounded very uncertain. ‘Where are we going to get them from?' All of the knights then just looked at him with a very puzzled look.
`There's a great green thing over there you can get one from!' joked one of the Knights while pointing at a tree near the lair. Arthur shrugged and asked
`Did any of you bring any axes?' Luckily, some of them did and they began hacking away at the tree's branches. After a while they all had sticks with them which of course could be used as torches. Many of the knights just put the sticks on where the fire remained from when Arthur threw that fireball. Arthur however simply used a fire spell to light his torch, to which some Knights were amazed
'It's amazing how he can do that, it's almost like he can use fire with just his mind'' gasped one of the knights, with a voice of total awe. Once Arthur and his knights had lit up their torches, they starting traversing the monster lair. It was very dark and there really wasn't a lot of space to move around.
