STAY : In The Moonlight

STAY Part 8

STAY Part 8

Jan 06, 2024

They celebrated the victories of the newly gifted till the sun came up. Crash hadn't forgotten about Quinn stumbling upon them in the woods. Once they got back to the main area in the morning, he wasn't anywhere in sight. He hunted Jenny down.  She was with the group of girls she had been spending most of her time with.

"Where the fuck is he?" He asked. Crash not caring that he cut her off in the middle of the conversation she was having.

She whipped around, her long dark hair flowing. "Damn! They got you good last night," She shifted to lean and touch his face, but he turned his head. "I put him to bed. He kept whining, a total downer. . . "

"Where?" Demanded Crash. He had yet to tell Brandon anything about what happened. He didn't want to spoil the good mood he was in.

"His tent." Jenny smiled but with a look of sarcasm on her face.

Crashed huffed as he walked off, thinking he could never rely on anyone to do anything right. Just confirming his belief if you wanted something done right, you had to do it yourself.

"Hey!" Spoke Crash as he whipped open the front of Quinn's tent. "You alive?" He asked, kicking his leg that was sticking out with his booted foot.

"Fuck off. . . " Groaned Quinn as he rolled over. His head was pounding even harder than it had been before he passed out.

"You need to drink something." Stated Crash, tossing the bottle of water he had in his hand.

Quinn sat up, rubbing his temples, picking up the bottle, "You drank from it already."

"So." Huffed Crash, "Drink it."

"Who's to say I can trust it?" Questioned Quinn as he looked at the bottle. Then at Crash, then back to the bottle.

"Fine, don't then." Crash didn't care if he did or didn't. "I need to talk to you."

Quinn held his finger up, telling Crash to pause whatever he was about to say. Drinking what was left in the bottle. "I already know this is the part where you tell me to keep my mouth shut, or I'm not going to like what happens, blah blah blah."

Crash smirked. "Good. I don't have to waste my breath then." Less threatening he had to do on his part though he was a fan of that part.

He had turned to leave the tent, but Quinn spoke up, "But I have a question?"

Crash growled, turning to look over his shoulder. Maybe he did get to do some threatening after all.

Quinn motioned to his face, "What the fuck happened to that mean mug of yours?"

"Now you fuck off." Stated Crash, not caring for Quinn's teasing.

"What are you two doing?" Asked Brandon as he walked up.

"Nothing." Replied Crash, giving Quinn a hard look before he walked off.

"Nothing?" Asked Brandon, groaning as he leaned down to look at Quinn.

"Nothing." Quinn smiled. "He was worried I missed out on all the fun last night. Guess I'm a heavy sleeper."

Quinn knew how to lie and when to lie. He knew that Crash was being protective for a reason, and he wasn't going to push it even though it was against his normal self.

"Well, it's good you're up. We're all about to head out. So pack your shit."

"Yes, sir." Saluted Quinn.

Quinn had to bite his tongue on the drive back home. He kept looking over at Brandon. He could tell that he was in pain but was trying to hide it. It was clear he had gotten beaten up or something the night before. As if he knew it was going to happen. This is why Brandon chose to drive his truck to the rally over his bike. Quinn didn't want to believe it was because he was coming along with him, promising that he was a good driver and would take care of his truck but chalked it up to Brandon not trusting him for the time being with his truck.

Brandon just glanced at him the few times he offered to take over. Finally, he gave up, staring out the window much as he had on the drive up here.

When Crash pulled up alongside them, Jenny was riding bitch. Her arms wrapped around his waist, a smile on her face, and his free hand rested up high on her thigh. She was cashing in on her favor owed to her already. Quinn flipped them off as Crash revved and pulled ahead of them.
