STAY : In The Moonlight

STAY Part 11

STAY Part 11

Jan 17, 2024

"Sign here. . . . and here. . . and here. . . and initial here and here." The guard spoke at the little window.

Crash was annoyed he had to sign his life away to get his shit back. Even more so that Crash was reminded they took his laces from him and said it was for his safety in case he wanted to hang himself. Crash just looked at them, thinking a man of his size would win against the laces. He took a seat on the nearest bench so he could fix his boots, eyeing as a pair of Converse stepped into view, looking up to see Quinn standing there with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Didn't bother to tell me you have a fucking guard dog." Quinn pointed at the back of his leg.

Crash couldn't help but smirk, "Slipped my mind." He laughed. Not phased by the fact that Quinn was clearly hurting from whatever Apple did to him.

"Hey, you didn't give me my keys back." Crash stated, returning to the window, "My bike keys."

"Oh yeah. We impounded your bike so you can pick it up Monday after your court hearing." The guard smiled.

Crash flared his nostrils at him, holding back the growl that was building in his throat. They had no reason to impound his bike. He had parked on public property.

"Com'on." Stated Quinn, nudging Crash. "No need to catch any more charges tonight." However, it wasn't like he didn't have the money to bail himself out again, but Quinn was sure if he assaulted an officer that would be a whole other story. "I'll drive you home." Quinn nudged him again.

Crash was already on edge. The full moon was a few nights away, and it was a big night for the whole pack. Finally, he listened to Quinn when he called for him the second time. He had more things he needed to worry about at the moment than his bike.

"You know your dog bit me, right?" Quinn complained once they were outside. "Like I think I'm bleeding." His sock felt wet in his shoe. And it wasn't from the dog's mouth. "He almost took my leg off."

"You are," Crash replied dryly, heading to the driver's side of Brandon's truck.

"You are?" Quinn asked, confused.

"You are bleeding." Crash could smell it. His blood had a sweet scent to it just like he had a sweet scent to himself in general. If anything it was sweeter and puzzled Crash.

"How do you know?" Asked Quinn again, looking down. He couldn't see any blood.

Crash looked at him with a blank look before motioning for the keys.

"I'm driving." Crash never let anyone else drive him around. It was bad enough tonight the police brought him in as they had. It wasn't even that big of a deal. He thought the assault was a bit much.

"Plus, you called Apple a boy. So she had a right to bite you."

"That beast is a girl!" Commented Quinn in shock.

They had sat in silence the whole way back unless you wanted to count the radio playing as conversation. Crash was already in a sour mood at the station. And it rolled into their ride home. Quinn couldn't help but notice that Crash kept tightening his hand around the steering wheel to the point he was white-knuckling it.

He cut the engine, " Com'on." Motioned Crash for Quinn to follow him.

"Oh hell no." Quinn wasn't about to go back upstairs. He didn't care if Crash was with him or not. "She's already ruined my shoe." He wasn't about to give her anything more for her to destroy.

"You can buy new shoes," Crash commented nonchalantly, heading for the back door.

"No. You can buy new shoes. Mr. I don't believe in the bank." Quinn commented on how much money he had stashed on the floor.

"Fine. You come up; I'll buy new shoes." Crash remembering that Quinn really wasn't one to have money readily at hand like him.

He had talked to Brandon a few times since the rally. Quinn was usually a hot topic of choice after the usual chapter shit. Crash asked questions, but he tried to be easy about them. He didn't want to tip Brandon off that there was more there than there was. Crash was just his curious self. Not that he ever got an actual answer to anything he asked.
