Brandon and Crash looked up from where they were on the sofa as Quinn walked into the apartment. Crash had stopped by to check in on Brandon. To make sure he was doing okay with the change. He let him ride the high out for a few days before he decided to swing by. Just because he made it through the first month and his first change didn't mean everything would be all fine and dandy from here on out.
There was always something to be worked on; not everything was going to be perfect, but it could always be better. It was different now that Brandon was one of them. He wasn't just a human hanging out with the wrong kind of people anymore. Brandon was now the wrong kind of people.
The sudden stillness Quinn got from the both of them as he walked in threw him off. He hated that every time he entered the same room as Brandon, he would calm shut about whatever he had been talking about. Now he had Crash giving him the same treatment.
"It's fine." Quinn spoke irritatedly, "I'm not staying long." He added, pausing in the middle of the living room, looking towards his brother. "I actually don't plan on being here much longer at all. Something opened back up at home so. . . yeah."
Crash knew that was a lie. Quinn had nothing to go back to. If he did, he wouldn't have come begging on his brother's doorstep if that was the case. Crash looked to Brandon, who had his eyes on his phone, "Hold that thought. Pizza's here." Brandon smirked, unphased by what Quinn had just said, getting up to head down to the main door for the food.
Quinn just huffed and headed into the bathroom. Crash was faster than he thought him to be because he stopped the door before it fully closed.
"What's up?"
"Nothing is up." Stated Quinn. "Now, will you get out?" He pushed on the door, trying to push Crash along with it, but he didn't budge. "Fine. I'll just piss with you standing there."
Crash still didn't move. He narrowed his gaze at Quinn, pressing him to speak without saying anything at all.
"Look!" Quinn leaned back on the sink. "I know when I'm not wanted. So I'm leaving. . . it's been nothing but shit since I got here. So what's the point in staying? I've been toyed with, bitten, and attacked. Not to mention I'm pretty sure I was also drugged. So I'm cutting my losses and leaving before something really does happen."
Quinn had been in too many positions where he should have gotten out the moment his gut told him to, but he didn't. He stayed in hopes of waiting out the bad for the good to finally come but guess what the good never came.
"Brandon doesn't want me here. He's been nice enough to let me stay but . . . " Crash placed his finger over Quinn's lips, getting him to hush.
"You say Brandon doesn't want you here, but all your reasons are connected to me." Smirked Crash, "Minus the dosing. I had nothing to do with that."
But he didn't stop it either. Crash was the first one to fuck with him in the woods at the rally. He was the owner of the dog that bit him. He was also the one who should have known Brandon wouldn't listen and allowed Quinn to get attacked by him.
"It doesn't matter." Quinn pushed Crash's finger away from his lips. "He's shutting me out hard, and you . . . you're just trouble. So, I'm out."
Crash couldn't help but smirk, leaning forward as he pinned Quinn between him and the sink. "That's funny, 'cause I'd like to say you're the trouble." Changing to a more serious look, "Brandon will come around. He'll open up to you, but you have to give him time. He has a lot going on."
"Can't you just like tell him I know already or something?" Asked Quinn, really feeling like if Crash told Brandon it would make things a whole lot easier on him.
"Why can't you just tell him?" Asked Crash, leaning in closer, running his nose along the side of Quinn's neck. God, he smelt sweet.
"Will you stop that? I don't like when you do that." Breathed Quinn, heavily.
"Your breathing says otherwise." Smiled Crash.
Quinn huffed, leaning back further onto the sink. "Trick question." He stated, feeling his chest flutter as Crash grew closer to him. "Brandon's going to be back any second now." He warned that the two of them couldn't be caught in the bathroom together. Even if Jackson knew about Brandon's change he couldn't be the one to tell him. Crash testing him.
"Smart answer." Smiled Crash as he pulled back. "It's good to know you do listen." He paused for effect, "And he's still in the elevator, so we got about sixty seconds."
Quinn looked at him with a wild look, wondering how he could know something like that. "You turned him." He stated.
Crash nodded his head, "He chose me."
"Then tell him I know because you gave it away, not him."
"I would have never given it away if you never wandered into the woods that night. As far as I'm concerned I saved your ass and his, for that matter."
Quinn smiled to himself, but not a happy smile. "See, not wanted, which isn't new. So don't worry yourself about not feeling bad for me." He went to push Crash off of him, but perusal, he didn't budge. It was one thing to always find a way to tower over him and make him feel small, but it was another to prove even further that he would never have a chance against him.
"Good things come to those who wait." Commented Crash as he backed off and walked out, sitting on the sofa just as Brandon walked through the front door.
Crash has the life he expected. There's nothing wrong with that, right? He lives in a world where he knows he'll never truly be accepted for who he is. For a long while he thought it had come to terms with that. Well until he met Quinn the smart mouth punk kid who just so happens to be his best friends little brother.
Quinn has never had a true home. Something he's searched for his whole life and has yet to find until he reached out to the brother he never knew he had as one final attempt at make something.
When the two of them meet their worlds collide together in ways neither thought could happen.
