Chapter 1. Of not like other girls
Do you want to know my secret?
The secret that I can’t tell my parents?
That I’m not like other girls.
Other girls like to hang out at parties with her guy hand in hand.
But I’m not like that.
Things like that make me angry.
I tell that to my self when I’m changing in the mirror.
I turn my head and look at the dress that’s on my bed.
I’m not like other girls I say to myself.
I throw my whole body on my bed, my heart pounding and tears start to roll down my cheek.
I’m not like other girls, why can’t they just see that?
I stare hard at that dress. That ugly dress.
I decide not to wear that dress.
Instead I wear one of my favorite sweaters and sweat pants that make me feel like myself.
I untie my hair, and brush it and take out my curtain bangs and look at myself in the mirror.
This is who I am.
