Smith handed me a glass, I was sitting on the couch in his office. "So, you got jumped? and now you are one of us?"
I nodded, taking a drink, then making a face, "what is this?"
"I know you don't drink alcohol, but I figured if I mixed it with what you need to start drinking" Smith shrugged.
I downed the drink, frowning. "this shit is gross"
Smith shook his head.
"Well, we have to go, we have work to do" James sighed, before walking out with Jim.
"So, I am going to be living with you now?" I looked at Jim, I wasn't looking forward to living with Smith, he had a habit of sleeping with people, which is why I never stayed the night with him before.
"yeah, I'll try to keep my partners I bring over to a minimum, I know you don't want to be around for that," Smith chuckled, He was a big guy, well over six foot, and built like a body builder, tall strong, and a lot different then my scawny five foot frame.
Two Days Later
Smith wasn't sure how to feel about living with his adopted nephew, sure he loved the kid, but that meant he couldn't sleep around nearly as much. He sighed, wiping the counter when a fledgling approached him. The kid had a pack of unopened cigarretts in his hand.
"Um... I um.. Can I speak to Carter?" The kid looked nervous.
"Why?" Smith crossed his arms, what on earth could this kid be talking about.
"I um... I turned him... b-but it's not... It's complicated." He sighed. The kid was about five seven, with dark brown hair that falls into his face, and red-brown eyes.
Smith studied the kid, "Fine, but you're going to explain this 'complicated' story of yours"
I was laying on the couch in Smith's office when he came in with a person behind him.
"This is uh..what did you say your name was?" Smith turned to the stranger.
"Sylas.."
"Right, this is Sylas, he's got some thin' to say to you" Smith took a step out of the way.
I sat up, looking him over, he looked fimiliar, but I am not quite sure why.
He threw an unopened pack of cigarretts to me, which landed in my lap, as I made no move to catch it. "I am sorry, Carter," He took a long pause, "I turned you"
I stared at him for a long moment, "why?"
"Well... see, me and the other two were hired to kill you, but... I didn't want to, you didn't do anything wrong, why should I kill you? So I thought... turning you would be better than killing you, I am sorry I didn't think about how you would react. I didn't get a choice when I got turned, so I know that... its a big change all of a sudden.." Sylas said slowly.
"Who hired you?" Smith crossed his arms.
I honestly didn't really care who hired him, it was probably one of the people who lost a race to me and got upset they lost to a human.
"I don't know, I mean, it was someone who was hired to hire us, I mean, I am sure I can figure out." Sylas shrugged.
"I forgive you"
Both of them stared at me for a long minute, obviously confused and unsure as to why I would say that.
"I mean, yeah my life is changed forever, no more sunlight walks, well, not that I took them anyway, I mean, fuck man, you brought my smokes back, that's enough for me to be chill with you" I lit a cigarrett and took a puff.
"I'd say that's unhealthy, but it doesn't affect you anymore" Sylas shrugged.
"But, I want to figure out who the fuck hired you, and why the fuck they want me dead." I shook my head, "You can help me."
Well, I know it's been a while, I'm sorry. But here is another chapter, if I get INK from INKSGIVING, I will upload even more chapters.
I have a general plot idea, but it's kind of hard to turn those into actual chapters when I am not sure how to put it. I hope this chapter is ok, I tried.
Carter Lee James, a 17 year old smoker with extreme anxiety and hyperactivity, has a semi illegal job, he drives. Well he street races, in the Underground City, run by night walkers, street races are a legal sport. Carter, however doesn't have a license, he did manage to get a racers card, which shows his wins and losses.

The UC is run by Vampires aka night walkers. Being turned is illegal unless you apply to be. If someone is illegally turned, the one that turned them is charged with a sort of attempted murder.
