The annual high school festival, a much-anticipated event held once a year from 8 PM to midnight, becomes the center stage for excitement and camaraderie. Not just students from
Noon High, but from various other schools gather, creating a bustling atmosphere.
Among the crowd are Daimon, Haruo, Nina, and others, all ready to partake in the night's festivities. The festival is brimming with activities like food contests, dart throwing, and a particularly popular boxing machine challenge. Here, each participant gets a chance to punch a bag, with the machine scoring their hits from 1 to 999.
Haruo: (after scoring 900) "Looks like I've set the bar high, Daimon!"
Daimon: (matching the score) "Guess we're more alike than we thought, Haruo."
This ignites a fierce but friendly competition, with both repeatedly hitting the same score. Eventually, they resort to a rock-paper-scissors tie-breaker, which also ends in a stalemate.
Nina: (laughing) "You guys are impossible! It's just a game!"
Daimon: "It's more than that, it's about pride!"
Haruto: "Yeah, Nina. You wouldn't understand our warrior spirit."
Nina, amused yet exasperated by their competitiveness, playfully punches both to break the tension.
Both of them got really pissed off at each other, but Nina punched both of them in the head with her knuckle and the competition thing was only a thing between them mentally since they don’t want to get punched again by Nina. (She wasn’t actually a bully, she just got mad when she saw two friends being so competitive with each other)
The festival continues with more contests
Haruo: (catching a fish) "Looks like I'm a natural at this too!"
Daimon: (watching) "Good catch, but wait for the grill chef round."
Daimon: (grilling) "Watch and learn, Haruo. This is where I shine."
Haruo: (impressed) "I have to admit, that smells amazing."
- Haruto shines in fish catching, while Daimon excels as a grill chef, leaving their scores tied at the end of these events.
As the festival draws to a close, the sky is adorned with fly lanterns. Daimon and Nina share a lantern, releasing it together into the night.
In this serene moment, Nina's gaze meets Daimon's, filled with an intensity that speaks volumes. However, as soon as Daimon looks back, she shyly averts her eyes.
"It's beautiful, isn't it? The lanterns, the night..." Daimon remarked.
Nina gazed at the lanterns and replied, "Yeah, it's like a scene from a movie."
The festival's true finale, however, is marked by an unexpected yet tender moment between Daimon and Nina.
Daimon, in a spontaneous gesture, kisses Nina, signaling the start of a budding romantic relationship between them.
Daimon, after the kiss, expressed, "I hope that was okay. I just felt like it was the right moment."
Nina, blushing and filled with warmth, replied, "It was more than okay, Daimon. It was perfect."
