Daimon and Haruto ventured out into the bustling city, finding themselves at the local arcade. The place was buzzing with excitement, filled with more people than they had expected.
Unbeknownst to them, it was the day of the annual Yago Yago game tournament, a popular 2D fighting game. Intrigued and up for a challenge, they both entered the competition, paying the entrance fee and joining the fray.
As the tournament progressed, the energy in the arcade was electric. Haruto, showing impressive skill, eventually got eliminated by a highly skilled player in a nail-biting match.
Daimon, on the other hand, advanced to the finals, where he encountered an unexpected face -
Daichi Sato, the hyperactive kickboxing champion.
"Whoooo, you’re the dude from the park!" Daichi exclaimed, recognition lighting up his eyes.
"Yeah…" Daimon replied, a bit taken aback.
"I'm Daichi Sato. Please, I am so sorry about last time. I don't know what got into me," Daichi said earnestly, bowing deeply in apology.
Daimon's inner voice couldn't help but comment, “Again, I think all these guys are idiots.”
"It's nothing, don't worry about it!" Daimon responded, dismissing the apology with a wave of his hand.
"Thanks, and good luck in the finals!" Daichi said with a cheer.
"You too," Daimon replied as Daichi smiled broadly before returning to his seat.
The final round was intense, with both players demonstrating exceptional skill. In the end, Daimon emerged victorious, winning by a mere 0.1 hp - it was the biggest clutch in the history of that arcade.
Daichi approached Daimon after the match, his face beaming with excitement. "Good one, dude, you're awesome!" he exclaimed, shaking Daimon's hand vigorously.
"Tha-...thanks," Daimon replied, a small smile creeping onto his face.
"I'm going skating with some dudes after this. Do you guys want to come?" Daichi asked, his enthusiasm undimmed.
Daimon and Haruto exchanged a glance, weighing the offer. After a moment's hesitation, they both agreed. "Yes," Daimon said.
"Hell yeah!" Haruto chimed in.
"Cool! I'll give you guys the equipment and the skate later when we go to my shop," Daichi said, already making plans.
"Your shop?" Haruto asked, a bit confused.
"Heck yeah!" Daichi replied with a grin.
"Damn," both Daimon and Haruto said in unison, amused and intrigued.
The trio later found themselves at a stadium, geared up for skating. The session was filled with laughter and falls. Haruto ended up with a broken finger, and Daimon took several falls on his bottom.
They returned home looking like they'd been through a gang fight, but the smiles on their faces spoke of the fun they'd had - a rare moment of carefree enjoyment in their otherwise complicated lives.
