Oh yes, give wealth to the rich, they will make good use of it. Like having it rot on a bank account while the poor are struggling to survive. That's a narrative I've heard somewhere before. Makes these characters unlikable right away.
It's interesting to have "bytes" be a currency. Is it actual storage space or just using the term? Maybe if one has more storage space, they can hold cooler armor and weapons. It seems to be like a video game...
If this is the problem Varakas has with these people, then it's understandable.
