Kuro arrived in the house and unzipped his garnet mesh backpack. He took out his competitive battling notes and started writing. A lady with a similar resemblance towards him sat down in front of him. Her name is Nahō, and that's her mom.
"Kuro. I'm kinda worried that you're taking this battling thing too hard," Nahō opened up.
"But, Mom. I'm trying to make a future off of it." Kuro took out a bag of Chippy Mateys chocolate chip cookies (reference to Chips Ahoy) and started noshing.
"I admire the fact that you're battling and not being a Roughneck, but I don't think you're mentally prepared for that kind of life. What if it doesn't work out? There's always someone who can mop the floor with you. Why not attend school and do battling on the side? You haven't been since you decided to go on a journey."
Kuro sighed. "But, Mom... I'll be fine. Look how Dad turned out. With the money he has, we can move into that rich neighbourhood if he wanted us to."
Nahō pinched her nose for a bit. She let it go after. "You do realize he retired from battling and decided to work a more conventional job as a bus driver. Also, he saved half of any prize money he received. That's why we're successful, whereas YOU spend your money on McBurger and Tacocolo twice a week! You don't buy hygeine products without us telling you to."
Kuro ate another mini cookie, listening to what she's saying.
"So, I'm sending you to private school!" Nahō shwoed him a picture of a two-story, red-white-and-blue facility, called Crown City Private School.
Kuro was taken aback. "B=But, Mom! I-I-I'm trying to do the World Coronation! You can't learn anything from school..." His head sank.
"Don't worry," she assured him. "You can learn a multitude of things, such as life skills, math, reading, money skills, battling..."
He replied, "Welp. Got me there. But why should I go?"
Nahō looked deapan. "You forgot how to use multiplication. You're going to private school, and it's not up for debate! Also, I'm monitoring your money. Somewhat... Meanwhile, I'm gonna find you a mentor."
