Twenty-three days before Christmas, Mimi Paws and Mrs. Slightly decorate the outside of The Palace of Odds with festive decorations. Inside, Tom Longneck, the Palace's decorator and worker, has adorned the main room with a beautiful Christmas tree.
While admiring the festive atmosphere, Mimi and Mrs. Slightly wonder what Thomas Waggs and Mr. Stinkers, the Palace's janitor, are up to. They find Thomas standing outside Mrs. Slightly's office, explaining that Mr. Stinkers, startled by his presence, jumped onto the chandelier.
Mrs. Slightly rushes to the scene to rescue Mr. Stinkers, who is precariously perched on the chandelier. She manages to reach out and grab his hand, safely bringing him down.
